Da Vinci Code

Re: Da Vinci Code

what r u talking about? god's messenger/prophet can't be human?
i dont what u are saying?
and Yes Muhammad PBUH was a regular person up until Allah SWT chose him to reconvey his message.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Hain? Ofcourse He was human till the day He died. What this has to do with His messengership?

Muslims Join Da Vinci Criticism:

I hope they don’t protest violently like they suggest!!

Re: Da Vinci Code

y wud they?
it portrays Jesus PBUH as a man...but i agree that if its not true, its sinful to portray any prophet in anyway that he wasnt. confusing.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Writing a fiction book on ANY religious figure is not a good thing IMHO.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Now had someone else destined someone to hell, many of you would've been up in arms. Could you please justify how they've been destined to the most bottom level of hell? Is there a verse in Quran that says so? I look forward to your response.

Re: Da Vinci Code

It is good seeing the negative responses of most of you to the film and drawing a parallel to the recent outrage by Muslims to the cartoons of the prophet Muhammad.

On the other hand, shouldn't we start becoming less claustrophobic to non-believers' portrayal of our religions? Surely we are mainly outraged because it belittle us and not our God? Surely God can and will protect His image (even if it is on judgment day)?

Let the world have it's laugh, let people joke for now. A judgment will come and each will have to give account for his/her own actions now. I believe the recomendation of people like mAd_ScIeNtIsT to just ignore these things as non-events is correct.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Good point .... We all know who was right or wrong on judgement day... So why take panga with each other now...... :-)

Re: Da Vinci Code

Bottom level of ignoramus hell. This is a metaphor Sadiyah ji.

Being ignorant results in punishment in this world and the hereafter. That is why our Messenger pbuh asked us to go to non-Muslim (and non-Arab) and learn from them even from Chinese.

Why because Chinese even now, do not invlove themselves in regligious mumbo jumbo. They focus their energies on "making things". Chinese silk has been around for thousands of years. Our Messenger pbuh being a trader, knew the unique characteristics of Chinese.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Good to see you back to your childhood of addressing everyone "oh baboo" everyone after few weeks of soberness............!! Next thing will be 'oh baboo Ram":)

Or wait..why not call everyone who opposes your view a 'mullah'? Thats original!

The point of my post was that no one has right to write a fiction on religious figures and the book in discussion is uncalled for if it hurts christian sentiments.

But again..you had to jump on your feet bringing bashing mullahs and bringing unrelated discusion of Mawdoodi book.

To make certain that you understand......................

1-Its not OK to write a so called 'fiction' book discussing religious figures...no matter what religion it may be. Its called deception and cheating and hiding behind the bush while mocking a religion or religious people.

2-It not Ok to write a book or draw a cartoon or make a documetary on ANY topic including religion which is claimed to be fact but not fact by many other evidences.

3-Its Ok to write a book with real sincere opposite argument and discussing a particular religion or its beliefs.

Now go and get a dictionary to grasp these points if you are still not clear!

BTW: Whats a muslim mullah? as opposed to for example a hindu mullah?:)

Re: Da Vinci Code

You're not making any sense. If Christians believe Jesus (AS) to be God then they should be outraged because he is only a human figure in the movie.

Muslims should be outraged because they are portraying Jesus (AS) incorrectly too.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Please help me understand, if we look from an Islamic point of view, how is the book/movie portraying Jesus incorrectly? Is there any Islamic tradition/ayat/hadeeth that irrefutably says that Jesus never married or had kids?

Why should muslims be outraged by this book, other than the blanket reason that no book should be written about any religious figure, which frankly is an absurd argument, IMO.

The book does not mock Christ as a Prophet of God, however, it does presents an alternative theory that contradicts some of the beliefs added by the Church about Christ.

Re: Da Vinci Code

and how do you ascertain the sincere opposite argument/discussion on a particular religion or its belief?

can you prove sincerety?
do you really think the way most of us mock the non muslims sometimes on GS itself is sincere argument?
i can say anything i like and hide behind so called sincerety, try to prove me otherwise.

Re: Da Vinci Code

No one can 'prove' sincerety. It shows up by itself by the way the argument is made.

Re: Da Vinci Code

There is no such thing as 'modern' idea of freedom of speech!

Freedom of speech is promoted by Islam and Umer (RAA) had people standing up and criticising him in public for what they percieved injustice and it was refuted with humble gesture by Umer (RAA).

Read the books of knowledge and not the book slandering a religion written by coward who wants to write book against christians beliefs under the disguise of freedom.

The book in question is a way to hurt many for their believes taking shelterunder the word of 'fiction' and the writer is coward.
The writer knew very well what he is up to.

The writer of this book is far worse than someone writing a book directly against christian beliefs.

If you call someone's mother as a whore and father a pimp..would that still be 'freedom of expression'? Hey, you just felt like saying that, so what's wrong with that??? You should not expect a punch from that someone right??:)

Re: Da Vinci Code

Just curious, have you read the book? Yes or no.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Any book/movie/art/or any form of expression which has the reputation of hurting the religious sentiments of masses and SPECIALLY those which deliberately try to hide behind ANY excuse are worthless but still need to be condemned.

Keep your curiosity grow.

Re: Da Vinci Code

By your answer it seems you have not read the book.

Feel free to continue to post your comments about the book (as is your right to do that), but now hopefully every one knows the extent of your knowledge about the book. Carry on. Thanks.

Re: Da Vinci Code

And hopefully we all know you somehow want to promote coward people and people who want to make money off of making fun of people's religion.

A sensible approach was all that needed and not being a cunning guy as the writer is.

Re: Da Vinci Code

Sir ji, no need to get defensive or call names ("cunning guy", haan? :) - you give me too much credit). These days every one has a comment about that book, without even reading it. Join the bandwagon as you are not alone! :)
