Was driving home from work, and saw this big poster on cyberbullying, and a hotline to call.

Jesus.

Is there such a thing?

For the Americans I guess so. How do you bully someone on line though when you have never met them in real life, do not know where they live and getting that information is illegal?

I think they mean when people abuse other people online, like messing with them, or insulting them etc.

I thought, at least? Or is it defined as bothering someone in real life that you found online?

Jeezzzz…I guess they might mean, FB and other things where you can post something abt someone you know..and then the whole world gets to know about it :vivo: I guess this goes mostly to teens going through a tough time in high school..

How can ppl get bullied otherwise on the net???

I think its mainly among teens who make fun of other teens from their school, or people they know. Long time ago i seen some show on tv which was based on same subject. It was mainly on teens making fun of other teens on Facebook, myspace, twitter etc and apparently its a big deal.

Cyber bullying has more to do with the younger, teenage/school going crowd... you know how there'd be those 1-2 kids that EVERYONE would pick on in school? Well now internet has made it much worse.... its much easier to ruin a kids reputation

some kids have commit suicide b/c of hte bullying....its so sad.

cyberbullying is when a person online constantly abuses or makes insulting comments to another user, i've seen it and it's not pretty

verbal abuse online can be traumatic for some people especially when they take personal information of another and misuse it to hurt the person.

these cyberbullies are probably total nerds in the nonvirtual world so the typed insults they hurl are the only way they can feel good about themselves, losers
