yea, obviously the pics on our facebook page are random pics pulled from the internet...if anyone is seriously interested, we show what we have done for our past brides....not that hard to understand...btw....everyone knows bridal designs from karma, hsy, mrs. kazmi etc can be copied ditto for fraction of the cost.....
well if your facebook page is your only showcase of the work you do, then maybe you shouldn’t pull random pics off the internet and gasp! here’s an original thoughtactually display pieces you’ve made! like the pieces for actual brides. duh?
i mean, YOU’RE trying to get OUR business, correct? so why do we have to work so hard to see your stuff?? if its as good as you say it is, show it off!
Very nicely put SGC - go girl....you're good!:ASA:
lol :p
didn't mean to be confrontational necessarily but
a) it was 5 am and i was up grrr
and
b) the "not that hard to understand" comment got me riled up. a bit fussy, eh?
i love that little icon with the danda... someone's getting the beats hahahah
SGC, SARA..and and all other...neither am i another "bargello", nor am i rude or snippety....i don't appreciate you guys dissecting every aspect of my marketing practices....i am new to this forum, and just thought someone out there who doesnt' frequent pakistan like i do would be interested in my services...you guys really know how to go out of your way to make a person feel welcomed.....if you guys require my exact biodata to decide on my "authencity"..here it is...mother of three, 32 yrs old (not some ditzy teeny bopper like most of u out there) commercial real estate professional, doing clothing on the side as a hobby with my partner/cousin..."ME" stands for Mehreen & Erum...
all of the shalwar kameez pics on our facebook page are from Nayna or Ahmad Bilal, both of lahore... we no longer have a working relationship with nayna, because they were not willing to adjust their prices in accordance to our market here...Ahmad Bilal is somewhere in Cavalry Ground or something, i'm not sure of his exact whereabouts because i am not familiar with lahore, i myself am from karachi. if you look at ALL our pics on facebook, you will notice an actual gori/latin looking girl modeling, those are MY ACTUAL INVENTORY pieces from AB....that should satisfy your curiosity.....
if i don't have actual pictures of my bridal work on my facebook group page, there is a reason behind it.....i don't like publicaly adverstising pics of my brides cuz alot of them are hijabi, etc, and don't want to posted on a public forum.... if anyone comes and sees me personally, they are presented with a very professional portfolio of MY work, not random pics off the 'net....mashallah, i have a very loyal and tight customer base, you guys need to get off of your high horses and quit being so *****y....if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all....
erum...bottom line is..if I do not see real pictures of YOUR creation of your designs, I am not going to come to you for a business...how is anyone going to believe in the authencity of what you are offering? To me I see no difference between what you have posted on facebook and a bargello site.
You said you don't like "publicaly adverstising pics of my brides", well how is anyone going to know the what quality you are offering. I don't think anyone is going to risk spending 2K long distance buying something which they saw on a facebook copy pasted. Sorry but that is the truth because there are now hundreds of Pakistani/Indian sites out there doing exactly the same.
again..u fail to use any common sense...how and why would anybody place an order on facebook to begin with? facebook is just a means to promote business....when someone contacts me....if they are in the same city, they make an appt, and meet with personally to see my personal designs......i don't "take orders off of facebook" that is not possible. and btw, i have gotten 4 orders in the past 3 days off of stuff people have seen on the page....especially my ahmad bilal pieces...so i must be doign something right....if u take off ur biased blinders, and go back to my page...u will see a disclaimer stating that pics on the group page are not claiming to be MY DESIGNS, but rather just current design trends.........
^ 95% of girls on gupshup reside outside Pakistan and most of them are not able to visit your base in Pakistan for whatever the reasons. So there is no point in advertising it if someone cannot order it online with authencity.
^ i agree.. Erum i think u must post pics of ur work.. u can get a real good business from here if we like ur work.. but for that u have to show us ur work first..
if u dont want to post here then u can PM some of us who r interested to see ur work..
since i am new to this forum, i am not being allowed to post attachments or private message yet.....anyone is free to contact me at my personal email [EMAIL="erum7860@hotmail"]erum7860@hotmail and i will be more than happy to forward you pics of my work...btw, i am based out of d/fw
I am glad you have got few orders. Maybe when they are complete, you should take pictures and post them up for those who first wish to see the designers portfolio even before they decide on contacting them. Even if they are not your designs, people would like to see what they look like when they are completed. No matter what your philosophy is but people love to see the work from the designer(or in your case, I am not sure what to call you since you are not really a designer) before they decide on contacting them.
Also, with the above attitude, I am not sure if many people will like to do business with you. Keep a positive attitude, take the criticism of people, and how you can better serve them.
