Curves are back!

Re: Curves are back!

well Hello there, I'm a curvy man

Re: Curves are back!

I quoted your post twice, its too bad you don't see that.

and again, I'm not the one who put down any type of bodies, you're the one who did.

Re: Curves are back!

Oh that post. Funny because I envisioned certain family members not necessarily the body types. Yeah those who made my sister feel inadequate about her body asked for it. Sometimes its nice to give some people dose of their own medicine.

Re: Curves are back!

It's important to note that body types may have trends in the fashion industry, but what someone finds attractive tends to remain pretty constant. So just because the latest trend is to have skinny or curvy models on magazines, doesn't mean that suddenly body types need to change in order to be attractive.

Also, this thread reminds me of a few words a wise man once said,

"My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun."

(PS: I don't have an anaconda, but I appreciate the sentiment)

Re: Curves are back!

Wow...

Re: Curves are back!

bhagoooo

Re: Curves are back!

most people always want what they dont have.

i know lots of stick thin girls that want the curvers (larger chest and bum) and curvy girls that want to be stick thin. it will always be like that.

all these celebrities/models are successful and famous, not because of the body size, but because of confidence. A Crystal Renn can look just as fierce as a Kate Moss. Wasn't Marilyn Monroe a size 14? she is still considered one of the hottest women in the world.

There will always be representives from the curvy world and from the stick thin world....as long as they are healthy, and dont cause anyone to have a eating disorder, its good.

Re: Curves are back!

I don't think you've said anything more true than this.
Ignorance is bliss.
I would rather have young women ignorant of what the designers prefer simply to protect them from unrealistic ideals.

Re: Curves are back!

Sab dramey hain!

They will make headlines that curves are back, appreciated and all that BUT at the same time the being thin trend is not only relevant in modelling but also in hollywood movies. Otherwise why 99% of these actors are thin, now i am sure most can’t be genetically built like that.

Excellent point! I couldn't agree more.

An accomplished woman is an accomplished woman in Hollywood and fashion. Her status in the industry, which is a just another wild professional world, goes lot beyond her body type. They earn their place in the industry through their craft. Angelina Jolie is a mighty fine actress, a huge movie star, a potential director, an already an icon. She doesn’t need to have a body like Beyonce or trendy curves to feature in big films, she is who she is. Her talent and strength of character has already earned her an elevated status in her respective field. A certain headline in a gossip website won’t make all the producers shut doors on her face; she has huge blockbusters coming out. Similarly VB, who’s always biched about in gossip columns for her body is actually quite respected in fashion industry as a creative, business savvy woman, a vastly improved designer who is on the road to become the next big female creative director. As a woman, I refuse to see their bodies as mere objects, I strongly oppose the idea of writing someone off simply because of their body image. I mean its all perfectly fine for 'curvy' woman to degrade skinny females but its all shock horror when someone says something about curves?

I despise all those cheap, sexed up; gossip magazines that make insecure adults feel better about them by making them feel so concerned about appearances of big stars; when really these stars are literally living their dream lives. These so called 'starved' women are filthy rich, proud mamams in happy relationships, with remarkable careers and super pampered life. As much as some people like to believe, these women won't be up crying all night by seeing few curvy pics in the magazine. How about people with body issues develop their sense of confidence and identity instead of making themselves feel better by just dissing them?

Re: Curves are back!

I thought it was as simple as being healthy i.e. neither underweight nor overweight, so what's this complicated debate about? I'm not putting down skinny/fat people, I'm putting down the bazillion health problems that come with being under/overweight. I'm not happy with my current figure but my BMI tells me I am where I should be so who cares? gobble gobble

Re: Curves are back!

Here are two bodies that I think are both healthy and curvy…

and here are three body types…

Re: Curves are back!

I read other blogs/articles and there are always comments calling KimK fat/obese. Amazing…really.

Re: Curves are back!

wow…I didn’t know that Kim is considered obese…that’s news to me…but of course ignorance is bliss.
perhaps she is obese because she would never be considered to walk the runway…

:chai:

Re: Curves are back!

Don’t they call Aishwarya fat/chubby too? :hmmm: I would love to look like her in my late 30’s but, the profession she is in, she *will *be required to lose weight whether we like it or not. Celebs don’t represent the norm…

Re: Curves are back!

I think more because of whats behind her :cb: But seriously…even if her butt is big, she has a flat stomach (or rather flattish). IMO its the midsection that shows the difference between curvy and fat.

Re: Curves are back!

kim is too short to walk the runway.

i love her body!

Re: Curves are back!

How do these look for catwalk models?

and this photo is backstage from a runway show in 2010…not too long ago…
