Curves are back!

Re: Curves are back!

I don't really care about the VS or other models. Why are you so obsessed with models when in my initial post I didn't even mention them?

Re: Curves are back!

Model Laetitia Casta walks the runway during the Louis Vuitton Ready to Wear show as part of the Paris Womenswear Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 at Cour Carree du Louvre on March 10, 2010 in Paris, France

seems like the revolution is taking place in modelling industry as well.

Re: Curves are back!

Hahahaha…talk about revolution.

Tell me how many your mainstream ‘curvy’ models walked the recent Couture show or got featured in the current resort collection?

And oh how many shows on average Casta walks in every season? Has any other designer came with the same cast LV or even LV himself repeated the same cast his Fall/Winter 10/11 show?

Oh What happened to the revolution, where is it?

Re: Curves are back!

So why did you bother replying to my post? I was clearly adding to Inspiron's post where she talked about models, perhaps you need to control your obsession with 'curves are back' headline that you've read in some random website and reply to things that you know and can talk about.

I'm gonna say whatever I feel is relevant to say in this topic. I don't really don't care whether you care or not, get over yourself or just ignore my posts.

Re: Curves are back!

hmmm…very interesting…and the comments are interesting too.

Bhai sahab (or behan jee) thanda paani piyain and chill, this is only H&F :D

Re: Curves are back!

Would Kate Upton be considered curvy? I know she's a lingerie/swimear model and not exactly fat by 'normal' standards but she's larger than the average VS model and would have been laughed off the catwalk a few years ago imo..

Re: Curves are back!

^yeah I guess so.

Re: Curves are back!

Oh Hareem please don't waste your time digging up isolated, one hit wonder incidents. I know this is all very new to you but you need to stop being so stubbornly ignorant. But please tell me where is the 'revolution'? How many curvy girls walked in the last Haute Couture season or got featured in Resort collection? How many curvy girls walked the last spring/summer season for major designers? How many curvy girls are getting featured in top campaigns? If there's a revolution, why aren't the VS girls walking for every high fashion show?

And why Crystal Renn's high fashion career is no match for girls like Gisele, Frida, lilly, Freja, Jac, Natalia, Coco Rocha, Sigrid Agren, Daria, Anja, Natasha (and many many others)? And how come Gisele and Kate Moss are still getting campaigns and magazine editorials from left, right and center but Laetitia Casta isn't? Surely when 'revolution' happens its there for everyone to see, it spreads like a wild fire.

Re: Curves are back!

^tum phir wapis aa gai. I didn't post those links for you.

The curvy models look better and they're as successful as the typical ones. I don't know why do we have to shut them down by calling them "lingerie material"?

Re: Curves are back!

Successful in high fashion?

Re: Curves are back!

what do you mean "high fashion"? Pardon my ignorance.

Re: Curves are back!

Btw, what is the definition of curvy over here? Big ass, big bust and thick thighs? I assume some ppl here also believe that there's no such thing as being naturally slim and slender and yet still be as healthy as you can be? You must look like Beyonce or you are not healthy' and probably starved?

Re: Curves are back!

why are you both fighting?
:mirch:
Hareem: if you are not agreeing then simply stop arguing/posting to jolie.
Jolie: you should also stop replying her.

you people can not impose/alter views of each other.

Re: Curves are back!

You know when someone is unhealthy and extremely skinny, typical zero size models, for example this Italian model. Good that Italians are the first to ban zero size models. I’d say curves are a blessing (big bust, big hips and small waist) but yeah not everyone is born with such body structure but neither are these super skinny models are born with a super skinny body, I don’t think they’re naturally that skinny.

Re: Curves are back!

ewww...she looks malnourished!

why is "high fashion" the determining factor here? everyone knows that the items shown on the walk are really only relevant to maybe 1% of the buying population.........nobody really wears that stuff.......

Re: Curves are back!

by the same token, curves does not mean fat. when desi women say "i have curves" it inevitably means one thing...

trends come and go, but fit and atheletic is always hot. <3

Re: Curves are back!

Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah I don't understand why high fashion is so criticized, its not even a thing for mass public. If designers want skinny models on the ramp, let em have it. They don't cater to the needs and expectations of general public.

Re: Curves are back!

Btw, I'm genuinely interested in knowing when was the last time an anorexic model was seen on the ramp for a big brand? Any recent controversy?
