what weed are you smoking dude, do you really think india would lose kashmir to civilian govs or agree for an independent Kashmir at negotiating table ? They call kashmir their atoot-angg, an inseparable part…It’s naive to think that they would have given up on Kashmir if we had not used force in the valley. Tell me when was the last time a territorial conflict was resolved through diplomacy or dialough? Not even a single time. Small issues can be resolved through diplomacy or dialoug but there is no such thing as diplomacy when it comes to territorial conflicts. In terrorotial conflicts, neither of the parties steps back from their stance and hence the one that has power, dominates the other.

Let’s be clear, there are only 2 solutions…

  1. either forget kashmir
  2. or settle this issue in the battlefield ..( which we can’t do right now given the fact that we are economically weak)

Diplomacy just does not work when hard men are at work…!

The resolution that could have happened would not have meant any territorial gain for Pakistan. It would have meant some kind of autonomy for Kashmir valley within India and some kind of soft border between the 2 sides of Kashmir. Above all, it would have meant a cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan.
Now this possibility has become more remote. The Kashmiri struggle has become harder for them.
Decades of covert war has achieved zilch. In fact, it has set things back for Pakistan and Kashmir both.

No movements can survive without external support these days in the age of artillery, drones and air power.

Mukti Bahin was all but defeated in April of 1971 were it not for the indian material support and even their soldiers fighting on behalf of MB while it reorganized itself. That is when pakistani army units (EBR and border force EPR) had defected to india unlike the situation in kashmir.

Pakistan mishandled the issue unlike india who wrapped it up neatly in an year. If khalistan movement had also been alive at that point in the nineties then india would have come to the negotiation table.
