Some1, just to clear up one thing, both the Chauhan and the Kanitkar boundaries were hit in the last over, but not on the last ball of the innings (The Kanitkar four did win India the tournament though). I realize the point you are trying to make, but surely the "last ball effect" has something to do with the enthusiasm shown by the Pakistanis over the Miandad six.

^Game Saab....you are indeed right....Kanitkar's FOUR was off the SECOND LAST BALL. I stand corrected. However I dont think it was only the "last ball effect" that made Miandad's SIX so memorable, since there have been several matches won, lost or tied on the last ball since then. Miandad's feat got special attention because of 3 reasons :
(1) It was during the early days of one-day cricket
(2) It was an India-Pak match and in Sharjah.
(3) It was in the mid-1980s when people were beginning to get hooked to TV in the subcontinent and more so to Cricket on TV.
On a related note....Last year, Moin Khan was given an opportunity to do a Miandad in the Karachi one-day against India...but he holed out to a full toss from Nehra.

Sir Some1, you have to understand that when Javed played he made 116 runs by himself there wasn't any other Pakistani player that kept up with him. Players were getting out on regular basis and when Javed came the match was on India's hand. It was all India until the last ball where everything changed that's why the match is so amazing to watch over and over again.
I know Javed is lot different from Imran, Indians like Imran for his looks and personality also he was a remarkable cricketer. Javed always had a rough look with him and that's why he triggers so many emotions among Pakistanis and others. If some love him is because of his guts and heart and hated is because of his guts and heart. Looks are just an excuse how many goray Indians players are there in Indian history. Let's not go into looks shall we.

Maaaan, i just HATE this guy. If arrogance can be measured by the expressions on face, then no one in world cricket comes closer (YES, not even Graeme Smith) to Murali karthick in arrogance. Infact Murali Karthik is the only cricketer i HATE alongwith Harbhajan Singh(he is a real nutcase, talks too much crap and his sledging is MOSTLY in swear words).

The player i hate the MOST is " Andre Nel". I don't know if it's a medical problem but he acts like a retard on the field.From what ihave seen, he verbally abused almost EVERY single batsman he has bowled to, i remember the latest incident where he abused Andrew Strauss after each ball he bowled (6 times in same over). Sometimes it's too amusing to see him act like a retard but he gets so annoying.

Why so much hate on Kaif, guys!? He is a really talented batsman. We should be picking out guys who don't have much ability but still act like they are legends/act like clowns on little petty achievements on the field.

Salim Malik is probably the ONLY Pakistani cricketer i ever "hated".
I do dislike annoying Sarfraz Nawaz, parchi wala Hafeez etc but don't HATE them.

To be fair to Chetan Sharma, he was a talented bowler....people only remember the last ball six that Miandad hit off him, they forget that Chetan Sharma also performed an incredible hatrick in a one day match against New Zealand - ALL CLEAN BOWLED. As a batsman, he scored a century against England. He had burst into the international scene as a player with great potential - clean bowled Mohsin Khan off the first ball he bowled on his debut. Unfortunately, after the Miandad SIX, people kind of lost faith in him and it apparently dented his confidence too.

LOL jatt_mirza i cant even imagine miandad and sehwag batting together. But it would be very interesting if someone ever arranges a match like that.
Some1 you're right about Chetan Sharma. He had quite a promising career until that one last ball. He did throw a full toss mind you if that could be used to justify the public's attitude towards him post 1986. Unfortunate indeed.

Chetan Sharma bowled a full toss after it was probably agreed by the Indian team. If you watch the video, the leading Indian players hurdled together with Chetan before the last delivery and probably discussed what he should bowl.
