Yaar..its not bashing.. Like others I said what I felt about a certain player. People need to learn to take comments and not become defensive. What is the big deal. They are public figure and different people will have differenr opinion about them. Why is it so hard to accept this and ignore something you dont like.

As I said earlier when you discuss your hate list, some people will discuss the reasons for hatred as well.
Yes I have no problem accepting other people’s opinion. You should also have no problem with arguements. I simply said that yes it is six which has traumatised indians fans for the last 19 years and thats why they hate Maindad. These people should hate chetan sharma rather than hating miandad but than again its their opinion and I have no problem with it:D

^Big deal... Rajesh Chauhan (who btw was more a bowler than a batsman) hit a SIX in the last over(off Saqlain) in a one day match at Karachi to win the match for India.

Kanitkar hit a FOUR off the last ball in a one-day tournament FINAL against Pakistan in Dhaka to take India to victory.

People remember Miandad's SIX because one-matches were not played so often those days (mid 80s) and so tense endings tended to remain itched in memory. I suggest that people watch some recorded one-matches from that era. They could very well have been test matches....considering how slow they used to be.

Agreed Miandad did not have a classy and elite background like Imran did. He was a street fighter and will be rememered as such. Yes his antics were over the top at times but you can dub them as 'innocent sledging'

Yes I remember the match when Chauhan, the handsome hunk, hit saqlain for a four. BTW that was the first match of the series which Pakistan won by 2-1. Therefore impact of that win was actually zero. Infact Ijaz Ahmad played a memorable innings in the 3rd ODI where he made a blistering century and hit half a dozen sixes.
Also remember the match where the GQ model Kanitkar scored the winnning runs. But again no impact of that win aswell. I will explain that in the next few lines.
As you said matches in 80’s were slow and therefore people use to remember matches with tight finishes. Yes I agree. But I was not talking about the the Sharjah final in the context of tight finishes. I was talking about the “impact” of that six hit by “pan wala” miandad.
When Kinitkar hit four of the last ball in the dhaka match, did that help India in terms of having an impact on Paksitan? No. They have won 11 matches and lost 23 against Pakistan since that match.
After the Sharjah six match Pakistan have won 50 ODI’s against India whereas India has won 13. This is what we call impact my friend.

Here is rebuttal..It is nothing to do with that SIX. Simply, during that period Pakistan produced some brilliant cricket mainly Wasim , Waqar,Saeed,Saqlain and Inzi, which made them 2nd best team of 90s. Overall pakistan record is better in that period than any period of pakistani history. Therefore they had better record against India during that period.

And …Chauhan hit SIX… on the 3rd ball of last over.
