Cricket World Cup 2003---> Pool A

Its not about form, with the excpetion of Tendulkar, no other Indian batsman can play fast bowlers on a bouncy track. This has been the fact for a long time, similiar goes for the Pakistani batsman but they have a variation of batsmans in the team who can cope with extra bounce, guys like Elahi and Inzi are good at these pitches, but other like Saeed Anwar and Youhana struggle.
So its not about the form of the Indian batsman, its just the matter of where you play them.
For the past year or so they had been playing against weak sides like windies, NZ and England so much that they look so good, they barely had to face any good fast bowling attacks in a long time.
India has not played against Australia since the year 2001, very long time ago, and they haven't played against Pakistan since 2000, so they almost forgot what's it like to play against quality and genuine express fast bowlers.

Excellent point Umair. Australia doesn't play India very often. And India's refusal to play Pakistan has caused them NOT to play quality bowling attacks. In the big scheme of things, India is the loser.

Well Indian politicans refusal to play Pakistan have come back to haunt them, if they had play guys like Shoaib Akhtar for a longer period of time, they might have the idea of playing fast bowlers on good pitches, but this newly found Indians batsmans like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Kaif and Mongia have never played these type of bowler.

If everyone remember, before the 99 WC, Pakistan had just toured India, and the Indian players were quite familiar with Shoaib and Wasim and they coped with them very well and they beat Pakistan in that match.

Umair and FunGuy I agree with you ppl partially but Indians just faced Shane Bond but yes its another thing that they didnt have any idea how to play him :D and Shoaib and Lee are even faster then him so no wonder they are struggling.

also India must get some really fast paced bowlers - otherwise whenever they face a swing bowler they get into trouble. I think they are still a great batting team except when facing the really good bowling! what a joke!

Inkay uglaaay janam mein bhi nahee milay gaa fast bowler. With poppulation of a Billion Srinath is the only quality product :hehe:

inko meat khanay pe ligao phir shayed shayed koi peda ho jai.

but even without really great bowlers I think they can beat England, Pakistan and Windiws. May be even Sri Lanka and S.Africa. Australi and NZ is another story

Never heard of windiws team, is it a new team or something. Yeah they can beat all these teams in their backyard with the help of their umpires.

Man, India got whupped

yo man, the whupping they recieved from the aussies today is unheard of. :hehe:

india 125 all out in 43 overs
Aus 128 in 22.2 over and at the loss of 1 wicket

This is the lowest score in the world cup currently this time around. WAY’TA GO, MAN WAY"TA GO! That’s some whupping, yo. :hehe:

India had a good opportunity to play well, as in the begining, Macrath wasn't really bowling well. But both Ganguly and Sehwag played terrible shots chasing wide deliveries and getting out.

:rotfl: kuch kehnay ke zaroorat nahi :rotfl:

Pakistan should be able to topple either England or Zim from the top 3 spots. i would liek to see them finishing on the second spot and taking some 8 points with them in the super sixes. Anyways lets see. They must win the next match against England and if Wasim and Shoaib can bowl like this , even against a formidable English lineup, i m sure Pak will win

P.S Insha’allah :jhanda:
