I dont know which developed countries you are talking about but here in US, you can be kicked out of your home if some company decided to build a “public interest” (even shopping center etc) project on your land (let alone the freeways and roads etc). As per law, you will be compensated and will be kicked out if you decided not to accept the computations. Most of the projects that can boom the local economy (such as shopping centers, amusements parks etc) are categorized as “public interest projects”

Yes, its called imminant domain, where land can be seized by the state or govt.. But here is what you missed or you failed to grasp.. i KEEP SAYING THIS OVER AND OVER SO FOLLOW ME THIS TIME…

DEVELOPED COUNTRIES, People can resort to the judgement of the COURTS! If the court decides, then the imminent domain can apply…

The Atlantic Yards example is a case in point where residents of down town brooklyn have been fighting a 2 Billion dollar or so investment deal through the courts… If they fail, then the imminant domain shall apply…
In Pakistan, no one wins because the Courts are corrupt and always side with the govt or the investor… Also, the poor cant afford to challenge the state… Thats why people support the Chief Justice, because he stepped out of the normal mindset of the corrupt official and actually HELPED the little guy… You people who love tyrants and hatre the poor would offcourse hate that about him.
