What empire are you referring too? Mecca and Madina are holy cities in Islam, but the empires that are accociated with the greatest innovation in Islamic art and science were those centered in the cities of Baghdad, Moorish Spain, among other cities.
I just gave a you long list of achievements made by Muslims after 600 AD. Infact, your assertion that there were no great innovations in art and science in the Muslim world after the founding of Islam is ridiculous beyond belief.
Who cares about Saudi Arabia? Saudi Arabia is not every Muslims aba. There is not such thing as an Islamic heartland. Saudi Arabia doesn’t represent the entire Muslim world. The success or failure of the Saudi state is in no way significant or relevant to the premise of this discussion. Im actually dissapointed that you have such a simplistic view of the Muslim world.
My point was that despite the fact that many Muslim countries are less then ideal in terms of scientific achevements, does not mean they will remain so forever. Even Saudi Arabia may one day rise to be a great innovator as you call it.
Point is, dont count anyone out just because they are weak today. History is dynamic. Those who are conquered today may well be conquerers tommorow. So Israel would do well to watch itself. Or the situation may well blow up in their faces one day.
