Marrying cousin is not a bad idea- infact its better because the child would be carrying almost the same genes and husband-wife will have better understanding of each other since they come from the same racial stock- In my family if someone is about to get married, they first look for rishta within the same family, then extended family, then the sub-caste and then the caste(rajput).
