Re: Court clears Nawaz, Shahbaz in money laundering case
For 15 years, Sharifs have been taking yearly stay orders till the 'right time came'...and now one year after they come to power, all of a sudden, NAB realizes they have no evidence, and cases are quashed. After Justice Qayyum phone call, nothing is a surprise when it comes to this criminal syndicate.
What happens to the sworn statement of Ishaq dar?

When you are fighting a case your goal is to win & if you have good lawyer its not that difficult to manipulate justice system. That how it works everywhere in the world...rich can buy justice & poor face justice.

Though what you wrote is not true in civilized or even most uncivilized world, still, when it sometime do happen (mostly in worse type of dictatorial rule, demon-cracies where haddi rules, or Kingdoms), people do not call such verdicts as justice but call such verdicts as 'stain on the name of justice'.
Unfortunately, in demon-cracies of Pakistan, when such happens, some like to claim that as not only justice but boast about such verdicts. Worst about demon-carcies is that, such verdicts get accepted when later governments come as they are also product of demon-cracy.
But I think changes could be coming to Pakistan, and if it comes, whatever court verdicts, an honest government would not only re-open cases if appropriate, or could go for fast justice and not only hang corrupt judges who exonerated criminals and corrupts, or corrupt judges who persecuted innocent victims, but would also hang people who benefited by their verdicts.

This is bull****. Why do court cases always get thrown out when that specific person is in power. I for one would like to see a court case when the opposition clears the person. That would have some credibility.

Seriously? Sarah Palin? Of all the people you could choose for that you had to choose a red neck hick of a woman who thinks all Muslims should be lynched and is in love with both George W Bush and Dick Cheney.

@desert bird … Before posting news from Radio Raiwand … Please read and think, and know, that when thugs like Zardaris, Bhuttos, and Shareef Brothers loot Pakistan, abuse their entrusted authority, and act badly with Pakistanis, they are not only writing their name in Dosakh, but all those who are supporting them blindly are also writing their name in Dosakh.
Further: To make sure that no one can influence cases, most western countries have introduced jury system. Juries are selected from ordinary citizens in such a way that different section of community gets properly represented and prosecution services who are completely independent of government, make sure that jury could not become partial.
See how democracy works (at least how UK works) and think:
Another important thing is that, in western countries, all state institutions are independent of government. Government make polices and give it to state institutions, and there the work of government finishes. State institutions vet those policies and implement them without interference of government.
Government (Prime Minister and ministers) do not appoint, promote, transfer, influence, or sack anyone nor decides career route of any state employee.
Further, if any person from government (Lords, Ministers or even Prime Minister) get involved in any unlawful activities, state employees act against them in same way they would act against ordinary citizen, rather in most cases, state functionaries are more strict with public representatives then public, because it is expected that public representative should be law abiding more than public, as they should be seen as law abiding representative of public. That is why, for same crime (or unlawful act), public may get away but if the person is public representative then punishment is harsh.
Another thing is that, it is not expected that public representative (parliamentarians) should be involved in business while they are representing public, as that means conflict of interest … not that parliamentarians or ministers can do anything wrong to promote themselves (as they have no control over state functions), but may make policies, vote for policies, or promote polices that could help their businesses (along with every citizen in such businesses).
Just imagine, if it is found that a member of parliament raised question in parliament for which they got money from businessmen or whoever, they could be fined and lose their parliamentarian seats. This is how strict state in democracy are with public representative.
Unlike Pakistan, where Prime Minister (even parliamentarians) thinks that it is his right to appoint or sack anyone in government (state) institutions, even chief of army staff.
