Couples' tattoos?

Or Wedding ones? What do you guys think about getting matching/wedding-related tattoos for your wedding? I know it may seem juvenile to some but let’s not get critical here, I just want to know if any of you guys have any matching ones or are thinking about it. Or absolutely hate the idea and tattoos.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Err maybe because they are haram? Lol, r u sure you've come to the right threat.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

hate the idea.....even if for a second you ignore that they are haram, I just think that people who get matching tattoas are trying too hard, I'm sure there are better ways to express your commitment to each other.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Get the name of your MIL tattooed at the lower back........keep her happy!

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Hahahaha! Matching tattoos!

Ugh.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

tattoos are just lame. period. too many people have em and they look stupid.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

No they're not.

Re: Couples’ tattoos?

why judging them

Re: Couples’ tattoos?

lower back will make her unhappy :konfused:

Re: Couples’ tattoos?

…lol, I see most, actually ALL except for perhaps Nomi and GDIAA (ahem), hate them. I personally don’t see anything wrong w/ a hidden and a “private” tattoo. I was thinking about getting the ring finger tattooed w/ matching roman numerals of our significant number, 9 in this case. Something ultra-subtle and hidden.

The thing with me is that there was something I had wanted on my wrist for a very long time (was something extremely important to me) so I did something crazy, I went to the tattoo shop and got it done (on my wrist) and of course when I got home I was a little worried my parents were going to freak out. Turns out, they were not. I showed it to my parents while they were eating dinner and they went from O.O → “what IS that?” → examining and asking questions → back to dinner. I was kind of pleasantly surprised, esp. considering it was not that small (about 2"-3") and only possible to hide with a huge stack of bangles/bracelets.

Anyways, went off topic there. And hypothetically speaking, if they weren’t haram, would you guys do that? Not anything huge or generic like half a heart on each person :halo: but something that held significance for you? Or ALL of you guys happen to think tattoos are not your thing and look horrible?

Re: Couples' tattoos?

I love tattoos.

But only non-permanent ones. And I don't like the idea of matching tattoos, its too cheesy I feel but then hey, its your life? Do what makes you happy, does it matter what randoms over the internet think about you?

I don't want permanent ones because I would like the option to change my mind at some point in the future. I know a few people who changed their mind, you never know right? Human beings are fickle creatures.

I had a massive Chinese/Celtic dragon tattoo all the way from the right side of my chest, bicep, way over my right shoulder, shoulder blade and midway down my back. But it was done with Black Henna. Took a few weeks to disappear but it was so awesome. I might get it done again at some point.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

couple should have tattoos at 'special' places i guess.......foreseeing the bond for ever n ever...

and..................nvm

Re: Couples’ tattoos?

IMHO, permanent tattoo is not good. I like the idea of black henna.

but it is your life, do whatever make you feel happy.

Re: Couples’ tattoos?

Why not, tattoo haters should just go away :snooty:

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Maybe not something as cheesy as two halves of a heart on each other, but probably something meaningful and something that would match with each other. I like tattoos.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Ditto.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

I do love tattoos, and if they were halal...i'd get loads like a right chav lol!

But matching ones are tacky i think and a bit despo....matching rings are enough.

Re: Couples' tattoos?

I love tattoos, and we were discussing just a few days back of getting one done of the initials "MNK" as it stands for both our names...but we are still thinking about it...

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Go for it! I to have been thinking about getting another on my wrist. Did you decide on the writing style and all? And how big?

Re: Couples' tattoos?

Well...I wanted it in Arabic, but I dnt know if it is possible...haven't really decided on the size except it will not be too big...and I was thinking on getting it on my nape or the back of my shoulder...I think he wants it on his arm..
