Indeed it is open to debate when it comes to expatriates.
Here the discussion I think is on the political governance.
Pure Pakistani are the best candidates for that. That is what I think the Ex-CJ said and he has a valid point.
By all means open a thread on Ex-Patriates and their contribution or potential contribution otherwise.
Also what Shamraz Khan said about the comparision between ex-pats and Local Pakistanis (or any person from similar/comparable third world country) in terms of hard work and honesty is also open to further discussion.
In short I would simply say the honesty and hard work can be everyone’s quality but it is maintained either because of the** laws **or the environment.
So what if expats are hard working, they are doing what is expected of them in the environment they are.
Otherwise their credit goes down the drain and they may not be able to pay the high grocery bills, send kids to college, pay mortgage, or car payment, utilities etc. There may not be so many people outside the home country who would be able to help lazy people in strong competetive environment. Good thing is that their hard work gets enough or decent return.
This is just one aspect I presented so expats should not take it so personal.
The link you provided is just a political statement. Off course he said what is expected. What else would you expect from CM? Any amount of money from expats would be welcomed.
You mentioned about the Doctors treatment from Punjab Govt. That is pure economical issue and not hard working or honesty issue.
