but we do so many things in a lavish manner…and no outrage over that!! life would be soooo boring if all we did was work and pay bills and be “simple” :S :S one life is all we have.

also, sometimes people are under a lot of pressure due to certain accepted norms and have to do things a certain way cuz of the culture (i don’t agree with it…but it’s certainly not changing right away, so we can cut them some slack)

the only thing i have a problem with is bridezillas. but that’s cuz ive no tolerance for such people.

and if someone with a good head on their shoulders saves up or somehow pulls off a nice wedding…then yay, it gives them happiness!

and just a clarification i do not want a lavish, expensive wedding. i hate the 8 days weddings. my “dream” is a one day event, where yes i’ll wear a designer but not like a ubuntu

See…if you’re working hard and paying your bills and spending on yourself, I find that awesome because you deserve it.

Similarly, if you took your money, bought a bottle of wine and decided to have an evening with your friends…I’d still not blink an eye.

The issue comes in when your actions make life hard for the less fortunate who cannot live up to those expectations and standards you’re setting.
