You actually spend more , if you travel by them … And then we have fuel off days , Strikes … There is no concept of traveling via metro or local train ..

The minimum fare for Buses 15 rupess ( one way ) - Coaches - 20 rupees ( one way ) - Mini Buses - 17 rupees ( one way ) …

So if one has to travel for work only - and we assume , he only has to take one buses , considering the size of our cities , normally you to take two to three buses to reach your destination ..

30 ( two way fare ) * 26 ( working days ) = 780 rupees … so comparatively , if you have your own transportation , you can do more mileage in 800 rupees fuel … And also carry other family members on them
