Depends on how much gold you have. I wud say u cud get a good one for 2 lakhs if u have some nice stones and beads. :k:

weight of gold + stones/beads + labor (making) + finish (polish)=cost of the set
making is charged per tola. also, only the gold has value. you will get nothing for the stones/beads when/if you decide to exchange or sell your jewelry. kundan sets are beautiful and look much bigger but hardly have any resale value.

Got my wedding gold set in Jan: Chuuriyan, poli wedding set: earrings, necklace, jhoomar, tikka, ring and it cost approx 10 grand (pounds)...yes its pointless coz its so heavy..probs wont wear again!...but in future plan 2 break it down in to small small sets...at that time tola was cheaper...now its more expensive....so god knws how people wud buy it nw..
mine was altogether, including chooriyan (12 (10 chooriyan and 2 karea)) about 25 tolea I think...
My walima set was slightly smaller and it matched the outfit my in laws bought..luckily my saas is quite fashionable and had great choice..even though I initially wanted 2 choose it..but sumtimes u have 2 tink from their perspective...she only has 1 son...and at the end of the day..whatever it looks like-even if ugly...if u wear it correctly, and ur decent looking then u can make anything look nice ;) so wouldnt worry abt it :)

when u get gold weighed to buy, u shouldnt include the beads and stones...coz they are not worth same as the gold. if any jewler tells me different il be taking my business else where...

what stones can you get money back for? diamonds?
u can resell everything.. but how much i know.. u cant sell whitegold again.. i dunno why.. and when u resell the set.. the pearls and beads and everything is taken out.. and just the pure gold will be weighted...

Yes, ofcourse prices of diamonds increase over time.
also if u r buying polki sets in pakistan make sure u take someone who can tell the difference between real and fake because I'm sure they will try to sell u fake polki if they get the idea that u have no clue what real polki looks like. Real polki is also very pricey my aunts polki bridal set cost around 4 lakh just the necklace and earrings about 3 years ago.
Also be careful when u r buying kundan sets. When gold jewelry is made with kundan, jewellers MUST use this material called " laqh" in the set and then they have a coating of 24 karat gold ( and only 24 kt) on top. All that is done to secure the kundan. So when u buy kundan sets the jeweller should take the weight of the laqh out instead of including it in the gold weight. Otherwise u would be paying gold prices for worthless metal inside. If the guy tells you anything otherwise he is lying. Look around and be smart about buying gold jewelry.

You should figure out how much u want to spend on ur bridal set then go shopping around. If you like something in particular, jewelers can usually change the set around to fit ur budget.

Ayesha - i was in pak recently - price of gold is insane.
So Churain depending on weight - will cost you around 1-2 lakh
These days the brides are going for just one semi huge set - which I think looks nicer than 2/3 that they use to do before but that will be around 2-3 lakh. Get the colors that match your wedding outfit
They also now have excellent "fake" jewerly not the ones that look fake but the shops are where the gold shops are. they are expensive around Rs 4000-20000 but if you want matching earrings with other outfits - get those. They are gold plated and seriously when you wear them no one can let the difference.
I bought a real set for Rs 195000 and bought 4 pairs of chandliers earrings in the different for about Rs 12000 from the next shop.
a kundan pearl set will cost you less than a gold pearl set. because of laqh, kundan sets look bigger. brides usually wear one big sets, but now looking back on my own wedding, i should have gone with 2 smaller sets because they are more wearable later. or get a design that you'll be able to downsize later on if you choose to do so.

can anyone tell me or find out the exact price of gold in pak. these days. i know it was pretty expensive in the past several months but heard it has gotten a little cheaper. im going to pak. for my wedding clothes and jewelry shopping in the 1st week of Dec. Inshallah and just wanted to have an idea of how much gold per tola is.
