Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
I suspect the fiasco of MQM has a role to play in this statement.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
True . Making grounds perhaps
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
This is the value of the government, one day the army issues a statement and now the defence minister has to follow suit. RAW formed to wipe Pakistan off the map of the world: Khawaja Asif - The Express Tribune
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
Bull $hit.. Now they come to know…
Isn’t it is job ISI, MI and other security agencies to limit the role of RAW and eliminate the local elements helping/assisting them in 1st place, and they totally failed in it and now we have BLA, MQM, TTP and don’t know how many on RAW’s payrole…
Hello Military men!! had you paid attention to your job, we didn’t had this mess…
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
This is the value of the vote in front of them… and it would take two more transitions to democratic govt to prosper and regain its confidence.. our politician knew it only take one brigade and three men under a Major to takeover Pakistan…
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
Obviously, this is not the first time military has taken notice of Indian involvement. Seriously, this so foolish to even assume that. However, it has to be said that this is the first time military has formally came forward to express their concerns over India’s involvement in spreading terrorism in Pakistan, and all in all there is indeed a message for shamelessly Indiaphilic politicians like Altaf Hussain and Nawaz Sharif.
Gen. Raheel Sharif is showing refreshingly bold leadership, and must be applauded. Full marks to army for finally, yes finally, making this issue a public concern. Recently, in Balochistan, he openly warned foreign government and agencies against wrecking havoc in Balochistan. Likes of Nawaz Sharif and his cronies don’t even have the guts or any remote interest to see enemy states eye to eye over the issues of national security. For such noxious oligarchs oozing criminality, personal business interests always take precedent over national issues.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
The day Pakistan starts producing government and leaders through fair and clean electoral system, and politicians without 100 criminals cases on their head - army will start respecting the truly public mandate instead of bowing down to criminals who take on the corridors of power through stolen votes.
Full support to army for undoing some of its past mistakes - whether its eliminating TTP or sorting MQM out - as long as there is no coup, army must do everything it takes to make Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous country. People of Pakistan look up to this institution and expects the best.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
How about taking a notice of missing persons in Baluchistan … instead of taking “care” of those who raise a voice against this criminality..
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
It makes sense what you say. But selective taking up of issues by the army have proved more chaos and anarchy in the country rather than tranquility and progress. TTP and MQM are still there, can strike back at any time. It is the job of NA to declare these entities illegal and banned, but without approval of army, they can do nothing.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
“Takes notice” , but doesn’t lay expose any actual details.
It’s a safe political move by a politically active army. This is a popular statement to make, and doesn’t require any evidence to be laid out because the country is ready to believe it.
In a truely healthy society, no state institution’s word (be it government or military) is completely accepted without information being provided to back it up.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
To many “press releases” from Army and this one is stupid actually.
Isnt this the job of Intelligence agencies etc to keep eye on foreign interference and tackle it promptly 24x7? They have to show “tashveesh” in a cc meeting and then take action on ti?
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
NA declaring MQM a terrorist organisation? PMLN’s ministers and especially their ever so trashy troll minister of disinformation - Parvez Rasheed - was no where to be seen when Altaf Hussain made those disgusting remarks. The immediate reaction and proposed action came from the military. Yet PMLN and their supporters have the gall to whine about army taking the lead role when their ministers are simply useless.
It’s so obvious how someone GHQ throws a piece of paper on PMLN ministers’ face and say - take this, this is what he had said in our press conference, so this what you will parrot in the media.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
This is such a symbolic and well timed statement and people aren’t getting it. LOL
I’m astonished at naivete of some posters, just because army finally made their concerns *public, *doesn’t mean this is the firs time they had taken notice.
Notice..serious notice that’s it?
Who they think they are ..Shahbaz Sharif?
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
One of the major reasons we do not have a clean electoral system because army keeps meddling with it.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
Military rule not only delayed the flourishing of democracy in Pakistan but it also left Pakistan bruised and battered from long term consequences.
However, it is a height of shame and embarrassment for so the called democrats when a military chief pledged a free and fair investigation into electoral rigging ‘to save democracy’. Likes of Nawaz Sharif should just get lost and drown in some pond if he has any any traces of shame in him. Stop coming to power through stolen votes and military might start respecting your mandate.
There are awful lot of ways military can undo some of its past mistakes and work towards strengthening and cleaning up Pakistani democracy through legitimate ways. Gen. Raheel Sharif has shown how he can truly be the leader of Pakistan and turn around the game and change the fate of country by not even bringing the coup.
Re: Corps commanders take notice of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan
Exactly! - From the beginning, to the recent PTI/Qadri, ISI sponsored attack on democracy.

RAW Nerves Exposed?

We have long known that terrorism is not natural to occur in Pakistan. The footprints of American CIA and Black Water agents, Israeli Mossad, and RAW have been found at the scene of every act of violence. Rehman Malik warned that foreign elements were spreading terrorism in Pakistan when he was Interior Minister, and Chaudhry Nisar has continued the same during his term. In the media, retired military officers have been protesting that India’s intelligence agency is behind every act of terrorism in the country, but this week charges of Indian responsibility for terrorism were given the ultimate stamp when GHQ made the accusation in an official release from ISPR. The question now is what happens next?
Some analysts are privately expressing concern that GHQ is feeling nervous that their reputation is slipping and has turned up the heat in an effort to divert attention from sore subjects and to unify the nation behind the Army again. The timing of the announcement is being noted in these discussions. In recent weeks, MQM was accused of being a RAW front group, and RAW has been accused of being behind the murder of Sabeen Mahmud.
It is the situation with Sabeen Mahmud that has left certain analysts concerned about the timing of ISPR’s statement, though. As a political party, MQM has its share of controversy and therefore accusations are understood to be complicated by political matters. With Sabeen, however, things are very different. **The brutal killing of an innocent woman has shocked the nation and has once again painted Pakistan in a poor light around the world. The fact that she was killed when she was leaving a discussion on Balochistan unfortunately left many publicly laying responsibility at the feet of national institutions. The speed with which this narrative took hold seems to have shaken the nerves of the military leadership, and an attempt to turn the tide of this backlash began to take shape. **Certain media personalities like Ahmed Quraishi began to strongly push the message that Sabeen was killed by Baloch separatists in a ‘false flag’ type of attack meant to defame Army and ISI.
ISI’s reputation problem goes much deeper than an emotional reaction to the murder of one activist, though. The agency has been accused of being involved in attacks against Saleem Shahzad, Umar Cheema, Hamid Mir, Kamran Shafi, and other journalists who were allegedly asking the wrong questions. The agency has also been under the spot light of the Courts with reference to missing persons cases, while international human rights organisationshave continued to press the matter also.
By raising the spectre of RAW at the highest levels of Pakistan’s national security institutions, the Army leadership has changed the conversation away from questions about alleged abuses to one of existential crisis. However it is one thing to announce that you are holding the trump cards and another thing entirely to play them. ISPR’s statement has bought some time, but now we must either show our hand or be accused of bluffing.** This was one thing when the bluffing was done by politicians or retired officers, but with the latest report, it is now GHQ’s reputation which is on the line.**
