34 24 is 58... Sara. ;)
But my question is about something different.
Maybe some people have not heard of it.
Re: Cooking
I don’t have a problem if I’m doing most of the cooking. My husband does a whole bunch of other things around the house that I don’t have to worry about, so it all balances out. A fair distribution of work is what matters.
I do think however that everyone should learn basic cooking to be able to fend for themselves if the need arises. There is no excuse for being completely dependent on someone else for such a basic need as food, when it just takes a few hours to learn a few simple dishes. I’ve seen way too many desi uncles (including most men in my family) who are completely dependent on their wives - it becomes a problem later in life. My own father is an example - my mom cannot travel anywhere on her own, because dad (i) cannot cook and (ii) is so used to my mom’s cooking that he doesn’t like anybody else cooking for him. Even if my mom does manage to travel a couple of days, she spends half the time worrying about what my dad is eating! My FIL on the other hand, can make a decent meal to feed the whole family. It’s another matter that my MIL and grandmother-in-law take it as a personal insult if he even offers to cook. ![]()

How is this even a question? No No
Re: Cooking
I don't know about other women but for me , when you have a family you want to provide and feed them good healthy home cooked food. It's innate, I mean, I will almost always cook from scratch every day, fresh simple meals which do not take ages to cook. Do I cook desi salan every day? NO! we do eat desi once every few days but it's combined with other great meals which do not take hours to deliver...
My husband can cook yet I am fussy, I prefer to do it myself because I am better at it also why force him to do something he doesn't want to?!!!! for what reason? to prove a point? no thanks
...., I wanna make things that my kids love like paratha once in a while or the make the special pasta sauce that bubloo loves, I think only moms know this stuff...I love feeding my family, it's central to our home, it creates warmth and bonding when we have good meals together created from love to nourish your family. It's not really always a big boring chore, food is an important part of life, and it doesn't have to cost the earth or take ages..
Re: Cooking
Is it too much expect your wife to make an effort to create the ’ warm and bonding’ atmosphere in the household?
It seems everything is a contest for women nowadays. A battle, a war, a ‘one up’, a point proven. ![]()
Re: Cooking
What if a woman can only cook desi dishes and no other cuisine? ![]()
