So how many of you have done those, the latest happened to me was this weekend.I made a cilatro and mint chutney everyone ate it,on Saturday when I was putting some cilantro in salan I smelled it it didn’t feel like cilantro ,then I realized that its parsley Noone noticed it in chutney later I asked hubby he said I was thinking it tasted weird but daar laga khuch kehtay hoay masoom log
The last one was I accidentally listened to my husband I was making gulab jamun and when I was making round circles for them hubs saw them and said if you want to make more beautiful rounds add some more ghee in it ,I looked at him and I put more ghee in it, then he said a little bit more then I added again.Anywayz I heated the oil and put those chiknay beautiful rounds in oil and guess what happened? They burst in a oil and accidentally I put around 5 or 6 of them together so what happened they were flying in the kitchen. After that I stared at hubs and he said oh I am inexperienced naa so he ran away in his room and those gulab jamuns for dawat. Then we had to order a cake later that day. After that I finally decided never to take hubs experienced mashwaras in kitchen.
So far after that all blunders have been done by moii, and whenever hubby says last time this thing tasted different and my answer is always" tumhari ammi ne tumhain 30 saal tak eik jaisay khanay khilaye hain bore ho jaatey ho so agar mein her dafa different pakati hoon to acha hai variety to hai naa"
So come here all you great experienced cooks and share your stories here.
I have soooo many of those cooking blunders but can't remember one right now. thinking real hard
Once I made haleem with canned tuna but you can't really call it a blunder cause I did that on purpose and it didn't turn out so bad either, I just won't make it again.
Jeez, I made sarson ka saag today. It was horrible and I think it turned out bad because it was so horribly bitter. I made it before and it was good, don’t know what I did wrong today. I had to throw it out :hinna:
a guppy just asked me about this over the phone and I’ll tell you the same thing I told them. It acutally didn’t smell like tuna, infact agar mai khud say na batati tou andaza lagana mushkil tha. :whistling
hmmm come to think of it, strangely it makes sense… Tuna has reddidh meat, and if handled properly it CAN add that extra thickness in haleem (like they add cotton in haleem to make it thicker )
