Do converts to islam know more about the religion than ordinary muslims because they learn the religion thoroughly before converting what do you guys think about it?
Re: Converts
Methinks yes.
Born muslims take their religion for granted.
Re: Converts
I guess it would be different for different people. Some people convert because one particular thing about Islam touched them so deeply while some convert because they felt it was logically a good religion to be a part of.
Re: Converts
I think generally it holds true......i have LOTs and LOTs of respect for the converts......or even the reverts..
Re: Converts
mostly yes.
Re: Converts
yes
Re: Converts
Hell my ancestors were converts so yeah why not… I bet the founders of my bloodline were much better Muslims in thier life than I will ever be becuase they had to struggle for thier faith while we just get free lectures and all… ![]()
Re: Converts
NOT, if he is converting to marry a muslim girls judt to shut up girl's parents...for name sake ONLY!
Re: Converts
Khalil bhai you have a point.

Obviously, not in that case...but generally, i think, yes they are more knowledgeable. All the reverts i have come across are extremely knowledgeable in Islam....more so than those who are born into the religion.

of course, he/she has to study religion to to be convinced that its the right religion as opposed to someone who has been born in a muslim family.**

ek dafa kah diyaa kalima to muslim ho gaye. u do NOT have to refresh or renew kalima. u may say that a born muslim has yeh to become a momin and/or a muttaqi. once a muslim always a muslim unless one renounces islam.**

you know man, what i meant by my statement..
definitely the who has said the KALIMA with attestation of Heart is a muslim...
but the "Tajdeed e emaan" is also essential....this is why we have the concept of "Tazkeeiya e nafs" ....
kheir...mei kisi bhi kalima perhney waley ko non-muslim hergiz nahi keh raha..

i don't think so. tajdeed e iimaan is good to have it but its NOT required in islam. one must strive to become more muttaqii, more parhezgaar and a better momin.
of course not. kisi kalma go ko Ghair muslim kahna Khud ek gunaha e kabeera hai. Khair, aaiye du'aa kareN k Allah ham sab ko nek hidaayat de aur siraat ul mustaqeem par chalne kii taufeeq 'ataa farmaaye. aameen.**

bro i am saying essential not required...these are the results (Muttaqi,Perhazgar & better momin)..tazkeeiya e nafs & tajeed e emaan are the essence for reaching to these results.. =)
Very true, Ameen Sum Ameen
