laikin jhanjhare: if we look at the image the caravan is actually on its way. how does "ummiidvaar baiThaa hooN" come into the picture? On the other hand, is the image depicting the "raah guzar" mentioned in second misra'? I mean can we justify this sher by saying that the poet is actually watching that place where he wanted to be in his dreams or from far away which is in the image and he is saying those words?

What is your take on my explanation?

kisi aab-e-jao ki sadaa pey bhi kahiN raastey meiN rukey nahi
kai aur ahl-e-talab miley mujhey raah-e-shaoq meiN ham qadam
jinhey kar raha tha talaash meiN wohi log mujh ko miley nahi

ye rastey kahaan ko jaatey hein yahaan thokar kesey lagti hey,
jab apni zubaN meiN waqt hum ko samjhaey ga tab deikhein ge

PS: Ab swal pyda hota hy ky diya tu hy nahi tumhin diya kion nazar aya tu sham ka manzar parnidy din bhar ki thakan mitany ko ghonslon ko palat rahy hain or karwan rwan dwan hy manzil ki tlash main.
