^ I've noticed that OTT makeup (particularly the Essex standard lol) and too much contouring can age the face quite a bit. An example of this is Faryal Makhdoom. She looks much older with the heavy makeup and contouring look she usually does. I thought she was in her late 20s (as in 28 or 29) when I first saw a picture of her and was surprised that she's only 23. I wouldn't say that she looks bad but she definitely looks much better and more youthful with less makeup and without the heavy contouring.

^Agreed! Faryal is a pretty girl, I don’t know why she contours so heavily, she doesn’t need it. She has a small face, her nose isn’t wide either.
I know this was probably for a special event, but the nose and cheek contouring is too much IMO. Blush applied that heavily looks scary too.

Faryal's had her nose and cheeks done (and lips since that pic).. it's strange she feels the need to contour that heavily when they were done quite well.. she does look pretty when she gets the makeup right..
Essex girls aren't so much into the cheek contouring.. It's more false lashes, oversized lips (and other body parts), fillers, botox and most importantly the tan but yeah, it can be very ageing..
Speaking of which I think F&B needs a thread on beauty trends in different areas.. would be an interesting read.. for ex London girls tend to go for a more toned-down look, Liverpool girls love those crazy eyebrows and heavy makeup and so on.. Are there distinct beauty trends in Pakistan like that as well?

I think this is a great idea! I've also noticed that there are specific trends in certain areas.

^Essex is a home county to the northeast of London. The girls in that area are known to follow certain specific beauty trends, such as fake tanning, OTT makeup, false eyelashes, oversized lips, loads of botox and huge implants (see Deeba's description above). There was also a reality show, The Only Way is Essex, which perfectly "showcased" this particular style lol.
