Umm…sorry but really not a fan of the American dress idea though a guppan wore a white one to her valima and looked fab! I also think a gown looks appropriate if either party is gora/non-desi and are having a fusion wedding. If that is not the case, the whole idea might not work well.
A close friend of ours wore it on her registry … she looked SO elegant, my gosh. Her hubby also wore a traditional tux (the penguin type). Both desi and both looked fabulous … so it really depends on whether you can pull it off.
Do you guys know of any stores in DC/MD/VA where I can go to look at these dresses other than David’s bridal lol. I know of Camile and Group USA as well, do you guys know of any other stores?
yeah i think it might look gorgeous.
Does anyone have pix.
I am so turned off by the traditional white, Does anyone have pix of a nice cream american gown?
If you really want an American bridal gown, maybe you can buy one and get kaam over it. Another option is to get only the skirt part (since you like the train), send it to Pakistan for more kaam and get a matching kameez made.
I think any long dress that are being made now would work well if you really want a gown style dress. Something like this can look fab in any colour (wish Farisha was here to photoshop it to cream :))
That is a good idea! But I am also trying to avoid spending too much. I can easily get a nice bridal gown from here for about $800 or less VS spending $1500- $3000 on getting anything made or altered in Pakistan.
This one not too much, cuz it looks more anarkali style. do you have a pic of the front?
A fairytale wedding dress with Parisian corded lace corset, sweetheart neckline and pleated silk organza skirt with side pockets and satin sash detail.
i love western style wedding dresses, they look so beautiful and elegant. i think if u go for it then u should keep the dupatta really light and sheer... almost like a veil
