Irem i understand your insecurities. thats a phase you have to go thro while opening your market.
But think about this.
when india opened its market to foreign companies people thought that foren companies will take over our small business and they will force us to close down. but what happened, over all india gained a lot. our companies in lack of compitition wouldnt spent a lot in RnD. now our companies are lot more competent and kicking. Now our auto sector, drug sector, garment sector, bankingsector, media sector, journalism sector etc are lot more competent and even beating foriegn products.
now we export auto mobiles, drugs, etc etc to other countries. indian companies are taking over other companies overseas.
Just its indian doesnt mean it is bad. if pak doesnt open its border then still it posses threat from chinese companies which can sell cheaper and better products from both of us. and to remind you that we cannot enter in chinese market because they just dont need us.
And regarding animosity, trade and money is the best medicine to cure that disease. You do trade with some country and you dont wanna attack it because it will harm your own intrests.
So you never bought indian rice eh?
