Consequences of Fear Factor in Childhood

Re: Consequences of Fear Factor in Childhood

Good Topic!
As a child, I had to constantly put up with my parents, uncles, siblings telling me things about Jinns. I was scared to the point that I couldn't go to the washroom alone [that's bad!]. I remember that my mother had this face that she used to make...that scared the crap out of me! and everytime I wouldn't go to sleep, she'd make it. My cousins (older then, so they were a definite influence) told me not to use the stairs alone as their's always Jinns there and so I never did. The worst was when I was around 6-7 years old...I killed those worms that come out after it rains...being the youngest...everyone (siblings, and cousins) told me that I had killed a snake and that I was in trouble for doing it...i was scared for weeks! Maybe I was just a stupid kid lol. But seriously, negative negative effects! Please don't do it to your kids. The only one that I don't so much when I think back....was probably the pakaray-wala-baba if you go outside alone as it wasn't really safe to go outside...but to use it on small matters is a big no-no. I am never doing that to my kids...the only thing they should have fear of is God in their heart.
