Jokes aside, its not just about spellings, it’s about communicating your thoughts and ideas with others. Everyone could use a little help when they speak to people, whether online or in person. Those who sound normal when they type can stutter or trip over words when talking in person, whereas the ones who sound illiterate here can sound normal in person. I know you’re not in school that you don’t want to stress over having to use proper grammar and spelling when posting, but in the real world if one wants to be taken seriously, “dat” “dey” and other general text-message/IM-speak isn’t really going to work, which I’m sure you already know. So don’t take it so personally, this is advice that works for everyone, in and out of the cyber-world.

Great job Sara!! :k: I wholeheartedly agree!! If I receive an email with badly spelled words I form a completely different opinion of that person. Same goes for forums online. If a person cannot spell “that” “they” and choose to type incorrectly because they think it is OK then it forms a very unhealthy opinon of their personality. I think people fail to realize that the way they type actually is a reflection of who they are online. Since that’s the only way we know them. Sadly they ‘don’t get it’
