As much as the you hate NWFP because its colonial should nt you hate the provincial system even more because it is colonial and it is a chief reason why some areas of certain provinces are more developed than others? Do you think whoever is in charge of NWFP will bother about places such as Chitral and Kohistan?
Provincialists argue that the most populated province Punjab exploits the other provinces. There may be quite an element of truth in that BUT at the same time in this current provincial set up more developed and more populated areas such as the Peshawar Valley are ignoring Kohistan.
The current provincial system serves the needs of Pakhtuns, Baloch, Punjabis and Sindhis yet it is the most detrimental thing to the real minorities in the country such as Chitralis, Kohistanis, Hindko speakers, Hindus, Tharris, Kachis, Seraikis, Makranis too name but a few.
They have little political rights, little cultural rights and have very little control over their economic rights.
Your right quite a few Hindko speakers are of Pakhtun ancestry but I doubt many support the Pakhtu-isation of what was formely known as NWFP**. You also forget one thing - not every Pashtu speaker in NWFP is an actually Pakthun. Some do belong to Hindko speaking back grounds too who lost their language because of changes. Not every Pashtu speaker in NWFP is an actual Pakhtun.**
You do know the next step will be merging Pashtun areas of Balochistan with NWFP although the ANP probably wont support this?
I hve no idea why the Khyber part was satisfactory to non-Pashtuns. Khyber has little to do with the Hindko speakers, Chitralis, Kohistanis and Seraikis. it has always been the symbol of Pakhtuns.
