India's doctorine or 'escape' of playing 8 batsmen piling up Everest of runs and having club level bowlers manage to defend the total is now coming to an end after 15 or so years.
Two reasons:
The class batsmen that they had been gifted with, are now either retired or in their last years. Resulting in less consistent scorecard and now more frequent failures. Bowlers are as pathetic as they always have been, so there is no hope to defend mediocre score every other innings.
India rely on their emerging bowlers too much, they happen to fade away or exposed in their second year and hardly make a case for International standard (here we are talking about top 6 teams and not BD or IRL). This is more of a talent drought or physical challenge than the training or grooming issue.
I would like to see what Indian guppies have to say about it.

Other than the fact that India doesn't have match winning bowlers, their batsmen didn't show much hunger either. Sehwag and Yuvraj look sluggish. Gautam and Kohli can't get over their arrogance. You can't perform if you are not 'in the game'.
Batting will get the brunt of defeat but bowling is the weakest link. Dhoni is obssessed with bowling part time bowlers. It is about time to play with 5 specialist bowlers. I wonder where is Sreesanth, Parveen Kumar etc..Dinda say to gutter saaf kara lo

Pakistan may have their problems against India in World Cup matches but we have done very well in India in ODI series over the years
won 5-1 in 1987 (under Imran)
won 4-2 in 2005 (under Inzy) - India won the first two matches but then lost 4 games in a row..
lost 2-3 in 2007 (under Shoaib Malik)
leading 2-0 in 2012/13 (under Misbah)

Sorry folks but Jadeja, Ganguly, Sehwag, Kohli, Yuvraj, Sachin and Raina etc. are not genuine all-rounders. They are all essentially batters who can bowl a bit in ODIs/T20Is. You have got to play proper bowlers and genuine all-rounders
Irfan Pathan is a genuine all-rounder but for some reason he's out of favour with Dhoni and selectors
And guess who had the best bowling figures during the 1983 World Cup Final ... Mohinder Amarnath (3/12) but please don't tell me that he was an international all-rounder. It worked that day but 9 times out of 10 such a strategy would fail
