Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

While some forum members are taking some slogans against Zardari as slogans against Sindh I would like to remind them of the contribution of Sindh in the lawyers movement for restoration of CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry…Congrats Sindh for playing an active role and giving highest sacrifices for the restoration…

On May 12th 2007 more than 50 people sacrified their lives on the streets of Karachi for the same cause and this sacrifice was the biggest sacrifice given by anyone during the whole movement. Today Pakistan could not have seen this day without the sacrifices of those galant Sindhis who gave their lives for this noble cause.

While nobody from the ruling PPP Punjab ministers had the guts to stand up and tell Mr. Zardari what is wrong is wrong…we must salute Sherry Rehaman and Raza Rabbani, two ministers from Sindh who resigned from their ministries and told Zardari on his face that he was following wrong policies.

Today when Pakistanis are proud to be Pakistanis, Kala Bhoot from London and his partner disgraced Zardari are trying to incite hatred amongst people of Sindh by telling them people of Punjab are their enemies and they shouted slogans against Sindh. Please be aware of these two criminals who recently formed a partnership between themselves.

Taseer, Malik and Fazl lead Zardari astray

By Hamid Mir

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari is now angry with his close aides who pushed him into a dead political end.

People like Salmaan Taseer, Rehman Malik and Maulana Fazlur Rehman assured him many a time that Nawaz Sharif could not attract the public to the roads and the government should not show flexibility on the restoration of the deposed judges. These advisers even told Zardari that he should not think about implementing the Charter of Democracy because its implementation would weaken his own constitutional powers.

Zardari even refused to listen not only to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani but also to some foreign dignitaries, who advised him to resolve the crisis by reinstating the deposed judges through an executive order.

Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer played a key role in destroying the political image of the federal government. He provided wrong information and assessments to Zardari about his talks with the PML-Q. He assured Zardari that the PML-Q was ready to form a coalition government with the PPP in the Punjab and he would also muster the support of, at least, 18 turncoats of the PML-N from the Punjab Assembly.

He was proven wrong. The PML-Q never took a clear position to form an alliance with the PPP and just one day before the long march, they said sorry to Salmaan Taseer. After this big political failure, Zardari tried to scare Nawaz Sharif by issuing some security alerts. Zardari was confident that Nawaz Sharif would not dare to come on the roads himself. His government informed him about the threat of “suicide bombers” again and again but Nawaz Sharif never listened to these threats.

As a last resort, Zardari tried to use the American pressure. It was surprising for Zardari that some top US government officials never used any “pressure” on Nawaz Sharif and they just tried to mediate.

Top US government functionaries tried their level best to prevent the PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif from coming out on the roads but they failed. US President’s Special Envoy Richard Holbrooke spoke to Nawaz Sharif twice last week and offered his services for mediation with Asif Ali Zardari but the PML-N Quaid never encouraged him.

Nawaz Shrif told this scribe that he did not want the Army and the US to interfere in the political affairs of the country and that was why he ignored the offer of the American envoy, but in a polite and friendly way.

Nawaz Sharif is confident that March 16 will change the history of Pakistan not through foreign forces and the Army but by the peopleís power and he is determined to spend at least seven days under the open sky in front of the President House in Islamabad.

Finally, it was the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who tried that Nawaz Sharif should not come on the roads for the restoration of the deposed judges. She assured Nawaz Sharif that the government of Pakistan would file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the disqualification of the Sharif brothers, governorís rule in the Punjab would be removed and the deposed judges would also be restored if Nawaz Sharif started a dialogue with Zardari.

The PML-N Quaid simply informed Hilary Clinton that he had signed written agreements with Zardari three times in the last one year and he could not trust him anymore. Nawaz Sharif made it clear to her that he was not interested in his disqualification and he would start talking to Zardari only after the restoration of the deposed judges.

Hilary Clinton informed President Zardari about the condition of Nawaz Sharif but Zardari only issued a vague press release on Friday night without taking any clear position. He simply missed a great chance for the resolution of the crisis.

Prime Minister Gilani has now advised Zardari to remove the governor Punjab immediately and say yes to the restoration of the deposed judges or the movement for the restoration of the deposed judges may turn into a “go Zardari go” movement.

**March 16th will be the last day for Zardari to save his office from an angry mass movement. It is sad that some personal friends are advising him to use the Sindh card against Nawaz Sharif but Prime Minister Gilani is opposed to this advice.

He thinks that no PPP minister from the Punjab has resigned at this crucial stage. Two ministers from Sindh resigned against the policies of Zardari and it is now time to rescue the credibility of the government by taking some good decisions. **

Well said :k:

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ…

We are proud of Sindh that 15 judges came to welcome Justice Iftikhar at Shukkar Bar after Musharraf sacked him :k:

Anti-Sindh slogan is propganda of MQM to divert the attention .I was scanning all channels the whole day , not a single slogan was raised

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ…

Watch what Ansar abbasi 2 hours ago said on Capital Talk that

1.Maulana Fazlu

  1. MQM and its Raabta Council intentionally played this game to divert the attention and give false name to this National Movement

and it was MQM who killed 50 innocents on 12th May , 2007 to stop CJ movement

and same they did yesterday

:rose:

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

I loved the way Kamran Khan and Dr Masood stood up to Mulla Fazlu and Pir Mazhro

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

To add in Yazdi;s comments on involvement of Sindh in the movement, yesterday Paleju was also calling this movement as sign of change, and he was saying the this govt. ( which is supposed to be a sindhi govt) is worse of all, when it comes to right os Sindh...

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

Hamid Mir, nails always in the right place..... I wonder if Zardari can read this much english..

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

^ Fazlo is always in government... and like MQM, he plays blackmail.

But thanks for some great efforts of lawyers, PPP and PML leaders and people, we just need to take one more step and bury the filthy doctrine of necessity.

Kamran Khan screwed Fazlu Daish :rotfl:

Lets not fool ourselves and not set ourselves up for disaapointment......it is a historic day but its the first step.........the journey really only begins now. Lets enjoy this moment of glory but lets not kid ourselves and think things have changed we have a long long way to go.....every long journey starts with a first step

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

Great article, speaks alot. Salient features:

  • Rifts between Zardari and Gillani
  • PML[Q] not supporting PPP on Punjab Govt before Long March
  • US being neutral, despite Zardari's begging
  • Nawaz refusing to trust Zardari and refusing to accept mediation from foreign figures
  • -ive role of Salman Taseer, Rahman Malik and Maulana Diesel (all of whom were supportive to Musharraf)

So what he meant was.. what ever lie he says, he should believe him... what a sorry character he is

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

Tell me about it.............his party minister Hamid Saeed Qazmi said on Capital Talk that Iftikhar Chowdry only stood up against Mushi to save his job....no big deal..........these guys are a bloody stain not just on our nation but also our religion

I am from Sindh province but i can say i am proud our brothers from punjab made the day.
it had to done that way if one brother cant other should take the lead.

i guess tide has turned now sindh which used to be epicenter for great movements has faded and punjab has taken the lead and this is good for pakistan.
more sensitive big brother becomes for national issues more better for pakistan,
just because these MQMers and fazlu diesel said something it doesnt mean it was punjab centric.

may 12th people lost their lives in karachi, but above all what is more surprising is all sindh nationalists parties which used to be portrayed as anti pakistan participated in the movement specially Rasool bux palijo, i saw emotions in his eyes in lahore all his life and i am sure in future he wont complain anymore that punjab is insensitive to national issues as he said yesterday lahore made the day.

Re: Congrats and hats off to sindh on reinstatement of CJ...

^ I think this movement has united Pakistan... peaceful Pakistani protests throughout the country.. unprecedented!

Long Live Pakistan
