Honestly, I think what she’s struggling with is giving up independence that will happen regardless of whether she is working or not, once she’s married, as she will need to take another person into consideration for each decision she makes. But that’s not what she is explicitly asking about.
I think every person should be capable of earning a living as we do not know what the future will hold. She and her husband will need to figure out what works for both of them, but if needed, she should be able to support herself and him.
