Ok I heard you guys so now all of you who think that degree should be a requirement answer this.
Lets say NA23 has no degree holder living with in that constituency. Should we have an outside candidate run for the MNA seat from that area? I hardly see it a fair deal for the people of that constituency.
and I still do not believe that leadership requires a formal education. History has proved it over and over again that its not required

Or should those people miss a chance of electing a fair, honest person just because (s)he doesn't have a university eduction?
When that fair and honest person can not tell the difference between GDP and a tomato. Then yes let the people miss that chance
somehow you are mixing wisdom and intelligence with worldly degrees. I dont think that there is a direct connection. Knowing a difference between GDP and tomatoes does not make you a leader. Zardari, Benazir, Nawaz Sharif, Mushaarf, Zia .. they all know (knew) the difference between GDP and tomatoes. How many of us think that they were true leaders.
Does a primary pass possess enough skills to run the system?
Running a country is a science. Unschooled, uncivilized bunch is only going to lead the nation back to stone age. Oh, that is almost where we already are. Now we need to be led back to civilization dude.
I have a question for you gentlemen, why did you waste so much time and money on your degrees when they do not correlate with wisdom, intelligence or the ability to do your job?
EDIT: I can do whatever the hell I want. If I keep my college studies for degree program intact. Because my parents want me to have some standard piece of paper stating that I have done this.
I think TLKs question is that in a society where only a small percentage is educated, does making higher education a requirement decrease how democractic it is and could be?
The argument is not to discount the value of education one bit.
Nope. It does not. Democracy is not about an education or a degree. It is about people having the right to vote for who they feel. An education is a requirement so people like Zardari are not voted into power.

but democracy is also about someone having the right to go and represent people isnt it?
