Complexion of the 'Larka'

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Larka gora hona chahiye hai...aur usko roti banani ani chahiye hai...zyada bolay na aur mere maan baap ki khidmat kare.

Aur agar mere maan baap ki marzi ke khilaaf usne moon bhi khola to vapis maikay bhejdungi!

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Sara, in this case, the topic of discussion is fair skin colour, which we Pakistanis are so obsessed with and is usually a make or break element of any rishta process

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Most desi girls I know are more concerned with the height issue than skin colour..

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Which is weird because most are dwarves themselves.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Maybe people talk about skin colour but in the end it really doesnt matter I have never heard of anyone turning down a ristha because of the skin colour beside in the west brown colours are more exoctic than white.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

i'm sure pakis are more concerned with the girls skin colour rather than the guys.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

From my limited observation, skin colour for guys doesn't seem to be a deciding factor, height etc. come way before that.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

I think for girls its skin color and guys its income.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

^ that sounds true, but also really bad! My mummy has a list of criteria, which are apparently education, height and personality? whatever that means, and nope there is no complexion in there.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

You must be really good looking for your mother to demand so much? :p

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

lol, no not really. But, mummy aur papa ko toh woh mil gaye hain, somehow.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

So standards are reserved only for "good looking" girls?

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Lol, I know where you're coming from.

My older brother is getting married. I think its wrong to ask for too much. A very good hadith is this:-

Abu Hurairah related that the Prophet said: “Men choose women for four reasons: for their money, for their rank, for their beauty and for their religion, but marry one who is religious and you will succeed” (Bukhari, Muslim). This of course, applies to women as well.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

No, of course not. It's a light comment.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Fair enough. But simply using education/height and personality to find someone isn't asking for too much. It's what's considered an acceptable education/height/personality that can be "too much".

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

**** personally to me complextion doesn't matter, I just want the guy to be handsom :) I have seen some really really really fair complextion Pakistani guyz and sometimes they don't look so attractive and kinda look feminine . Lol

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Definitely, I guess I miss the old school days where people would pick their spouses based on the most important things. Religion, compassion, honesty etc. These should be enough but I guess we live in a society where other things are brought in that cant really affect a marriage in a great deal. If you get me.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Agree.. I haven't come across many girls (no matter how pale they are themselves) who are that bothered about marrying a light skinned guy..

Height seems to be more of a factor than skin tone when it comes to looks imo

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Are u saying physical attraction isn't important?

I couldn't be intimate with a guy I didn't find attractive..

Re: Complexion of the ‘Larka’

@ deeeba ^2 because a guy and his family are given the upperhand in this twisted society. rules made by men, for men.
