I never said that but the discussion is that poor people and those who are not beautiful enough develop complexes that they are NOT beautiful enough even if they are because they see people on television with size zero figures and airbrushed faces. Artificial beauty gives people many thoughts in their minds and they develop complexes. Plus KA the topic is about poor people developing complexes or not.
usually poor ppl are too busy doing life. and I don't believe poor ppl are target segment of fashion product any ways. SO as a result all marketing campaign are not directed towards them.
Plus they can't afford to buy fashion magazines.
From what I've seen in pakistan the richer people are more obsessed with keeping up to everyone else's standards of beauty... they spend all that money on whitening creams, fair and lovely all that other crap
Yes all of that is true but guys i am talking about inferiority complex here. People seeing ads here and there in newspaper etc and getting a complex by listening to other people about how beautiful they are.

yes those magazines make ppl think they are not good enough. Girls always trying to lose weight. etc
I think its true. But I also believe that its not just the poor people, its mainly the "weak" - which could be any of us. Because somewhere down the line, all of us might be in awe of a perfect body/luxurious lifestyles etc.
Not sure if it answered your question, but it was just a thought.

KA and due to these complexes we have anorexia and bolimia .. Why is it that they develop these complexes?
Sid09 yeah you are right but my question was is it the poor people more or not?
hah..I think its the underlying implication to all make "men" fall into this trap of fairness as well and that its not just limited to women. Finally, its about time we have equality, atleast in terms of fairness.

hahahha
there is cream which can make ppl handsome?? lol
I want one of those.
Yes, it is a cream from India i think and it is sold in Dubai alongside Fair n Lovely lol ....
I heard its advertisement on the radio and literally laughed out loud. It is hilarious, so men these days want these kinds of creams too? lol
Sid i know i guess that is the reason they came up with this cream lol
I think more poor people could develop these complexes. Like, lets take the fair complexion example - if you look into those small cities, people would still go completely ga-ga over a gori chitti larki, but in more industrialized cities the thinking has begun to change - it will still take time, but its not as hardcore as in small cities.
So girls from poor families might be more prone to developing inferiority complexes based on society's pathetic beauty parameters.
exactly sid that was what i was trying to say and i was thinking and this is why i opened this thread that it is poor families who are more prone. but why that was what i wanted to discuss about

its like asking "why we get flu". answer is because virus is out there we get our immune system weaker and it effects us.
Same way we should be prepare to resist unhealthy influences , which ever shape they come in. Tv commercials magazines any thing.
i don't think poor people are more prone in general but in this case, yes. i think that on all levels of society there is something people feel the need to aim for depending on what they are most exposed to. so for poorer people it might be making themselves whiter as this is what they are most exposed to in newspapers and on tv. for well off people it may be having a perfect figure or nose or something because that's what they are most exposed to. virtually everyone has a complex about something - the way they look, the amount of money they have, how smart they are.
