Completely Lost...Don't know what to do!

I agwee.

Everyone of has options, its just that all options are not the best choices or even the best choices sometimes fail to fill the gaps and revive the flame. You can get always get a quick replacement but it does not necessarily heal your wounds

Re: Completely Lost...Don't know what to do!

Hey bro...
evry story has to end one day...
and after the completion of one story.. there is a beGinninG of a new story...
chiL kro.
and move frwrd...
ets not as difficult as u thot...

This is the best advice anyone can give you. I can almost relate to your predicament, although not entirely similar, where for five years I faced some tumultuous life changing events. Despite the best efforts of my parents, sisters, and close relatives I had lost all hope in life and dare I say Allah. But what finally broke the spell of utter hopelessness was the what is written in the quote above: every story be it sad or happy has a beginning and and end; time is the best of healers. I can still feel the reverberations of past events during some days but you have to get on with your life and find happiness in little things. Hope you feel better.

Dear Adrift - Sometimes changing one little thing about ourselves has a ripple effect on the rest of our being.

Do change your image but I would also recomended that you try to get in touch with spirtuality. It helps us to see the glass as "half full" rather than "half empty"

I would also recomend if you are "clinicly depressed" that you can take some medication to bring you out of your depression. Consult a doctor.

respected njgal, i been into spirituality as well. have prayed my heart out to God to let me outta this mess.

i know i am into one of the most envied jobs of govt sector in Pakistan. my parents are happy with me , what else do i need.

perhaps only time can heal it.

Dear Adrift -

May Allah accept all your Duas.

You know us humans are strange creatures. We need a little of everything. mA you have good parents, you have a good job but you heart seeks something more. You mentioned you are socially isolated so try to join a social club or actiivty or sports. iA everything will work out for you.

thnks ms nj.

well its something i know, yet i can't help. honestly speaking, though its right that i should socialize, yet wat was so nicely rendered by a poet, ~~ kia lutf anjuman ka jabb dil hi bujh gaya~~~ :-)

im down cos my love went away from me.
i know wat should i be upto, yet i cant help
it takes some real beating to get out of this agony, which seems prety difficult

Re: Completely Lost...Don't know what to do!

Shaadi kar lo, move on..... a friend I know used to say that every time a girl broke his heart, he went through at least 10 relationships. Each time he would moan and cry about how he was depressed and his heart was broken (blah, blah) ...... then he would find someone else, and the story would repeat..... now he's happily married (arranged marriage).

Re: Completely Lost...Don't know what to do!

adrift,

You need professional help. You having medical background should know that depression is a treatable illness.
See a psychiatrist please ASAP because you hinted that you have suicidal thoughts too.
I would say again please, please , please do not delay.
You are a high achiever be proud of it. How many people from Pakistan can switch their career and pass CSS in first attempt.
As for your younger look that is a gift of nature , enjoy it while you can. You should enjoy the look at the people faces when you tell them that you are not a school going kid you are a very valuable member of the society.

dear mirch, as for professional help, that also is a matter of concern for me, i.e life long addiction to psychiatrist's treatment. i can't go on medication. i ve been to a couple of nationally renowned psychiatrists, but both of them put me to anti deptressents, tranquilizers, and mind sedators. that im quite fearful of entering into.

could there be any good professional(in Lahore) who can help me logically, but without medicine, i just want to forget the woman who brought so many tears in my life, for no fault of mine.

Re: Completely Lost...Don't know what to do!

I have a few people in friends and family who suffer from clinical depression. The ones who chose not to see a psychiatrist lead a miserable life. One of them ended up on the street begging people money to buy a cigarette for him. He belonged to a very respectable family. His story was same. A girl dumped him which sent him into that depression.
A couple of people known to me got over their depression after a couple of years of treatment. One I know will need treatment as per her psychiatrist for all her life. She was molested by someone in her teens. Although she is happily married. Her husband loves her to death. She knows it , but that trauma has scarred her personality so badly that medication is the only recourse to keep her stable and normal.
The depression medications are becoming safer every year. One of the safe ones is Abilify. Talk to your doctor about Abilify.
Yes you can overcome your depression without medication , but that is also a long way to go. In the end you are in charge of your life. You decide how you want to go about it.
If you have not already done that move from the place where you would not be able to see her or anything which can jog your memories of your relationship. Read namaz and Quran they will give you lot of peace of mind. Do good to others . Be courteous and spread love as much as possible. Engage yourself into social work and charity as much as possible . You will find so much inner peace in those activities which you cannot imagine.
You know a person who has the most inner peace in these days ? Abdul Sattar Edhi. You cannot follow his foot prints but you can try as much as you can.
