Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

I’m annoyed about this. The current fad is to wear those low-cut, belly-bearing jeans, slacks or pants. You just cant find pants that come to the waist. Do you find this deplorable? I’ve had 3 kids now and those low-cut pants look just awful. I mean, even if you’re REALLY skinny, they make your butt look square, large and wide. I’m pretty thin but I have a loose belly after my 3 boys so the low-cut things just make my belly hang over - ack!!! When you wear jeans that come to the waist or even high-waisted jeans, your waist looks smaller, your butt looks smaller, your legs look longer and they hide all kids of saggy sins in the belly area. There should be an international fashion complaint line I think. We could even complain about the horrible pointy womens shoes…I mean who has pointy feet? And how can you possibly find pointy feet attractive? They add up to an inch and a half to the length of your foot!!! And give you corns, calluses and backaches.

ok I feel better now. If I could only find some nice jeans to wear!!

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Pointy toe shoes make my feet look longer, since they’re incredibly short but wide :bummer: pointy shoes look cute :snooty: PLEASE do not wear Mom-jeans wiht the front-butt n pleats, those are a fashion sin! Jus coz u are a mom doesnt mean u hav to look like crap. And i dunno abt low riders making ur butt look bad.. I think it makes em look good :halo: Oh and the general idea of jeans nowadays is that not everyone wants a “small” butt, its abt showing it more shapely r something..i hope that makes sense.

Rant over, so where have you been shopping? I know alot of places sell jeans in differetn varieties, ultra low rise, high rise, bootcut , flare, skinny jean etc. If gap and old navy are no good..ther’es always kmart

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Try Al Quds jeans.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Or go to Pakistan..htey have pretty ugly jeans for women ;)

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

rotfl ms sara!! I promise to keep away from the wal-mart special mommy polyester pleated pants (with the stretch waist band) !!!

But I've been all over looking and looking for high waisted jeans. No luck yet. I have some lower-cut jeans and slacks so I just wear long shirts over them to hide the pants.

I'm jealous of your short feet!! If you wear rounded toed shoes I bet they'd look really cute.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

You’re jealous of my feet??? Do you want to see them?

Seriously its a pain in the ass to find nice shoes, coz they’re wide as well..andnobody makes shoes for wide feet :frowning:

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

You could work upon exercising those muscles and not have a saggy belly rather than complaining bout low riders.

IMO they are Hot!!

I dont like high waisted or even waisted jeans, it just looks like a person with a constant wedgie.

To each their own.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Start saving up for htat tummy tuck instead ;)

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

LB yes and I play lotto each week! lol!

It isnt my muscles that are the problem, its that my skin was stretched so far beyond its limit. Muscles are ok I mean I dont have a 6-pack but its pretty tight. But the skin is like loose draperies. ACK!! Thats prob WAY more info than you want but heck its the sad sorry truth of the matter.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

I've given birth to 3 myself.
No excuse to not have a toned up body.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Now the fashion has started with the ultra slim jeans and long shirts...the jeans almost look lilke our choorhi dat pajamas....only difference is that the cloth is denim...I really do not think that I'll be wearing the ultra slim jeans ...they r so unflattering to the figure...to any figure....
For the problem that u r talking about the jeans...I would highly suggest that u try the ANN TAYLOR LOFT jeans...Ann Taylor itself has jeans too but the Loft Carries more styles of them....They have the high waisted ones...which r very unlike the mommy-jeans:) ...Apart from that I know with my own figure...I have a much smaller waist for example a size 4 would fit me perfectly but still be loose from the waist and thus slips lower....thats when I had started wearing a camisole underneath everything and tucking it in...It adds to the silohuette to0, and support...For me Camisoles have allowed me to wear even the lower cuts without baring anything plus the added support....:) ...Hope this helps u a little
PS the higher waisted jeans do not flater someone if u have wide hips....ie Pear shape rather then Apple shape:) ...the lower jeans look flattering if u have wider hips as they enlongate the torso...and the wider straight fit of the leg enlongate the leg....The length shud also be covering half of a heeled shoe if u r wearing them...and Darker washes r always slimming...keep away from lighter washes....they make objects appear larger then they really r:) :) ....
I bet u 'll find a good fit at Ann Taylor Loft....just try different sizes and ask the ladies there to help u out...they r very helpful....I have 2 kids too so I know ....
For me ...finding the perfect pair of Jeans is an Art....I have recently discovered that I had been wearing the wrong length's...and discovering the Long's have changed my Jeans dramatically.........I hope U find the Perfect Pair of Jeans...Good Luck and keep us posted....

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

I quite agree LB! But sadly like i said that isnt my prob....i have muscle tone but tummy skin is like loose draperies. Not much you can do about that except tuck it into jeans that come waist high - OR - get the tummy tuck which leaves a horrible scar but at least you dont have the "drapery effect"....if you dont have it then sounds like you have been blessed with more elastic skin than I have. Mine is sadly non-stretchy. My doc told me that when you have your babies really close together like I did, your skin doesnt recover in-between so the drapery effect is worse. Ah well, I wouldnt have done it differently but I'd still love to find some good jeans till I win lotto and get my tummy tuck!

Thanks for the info Ms AMber!!! There's an Ann Taylor store right nearby me too so I am looking forward to checking it out! I havent gone in there much cause its so expensive but heck I'd rather have a nice pair or 2.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

LB, every body is different. Some are ablet o get back into tip top shape after babies and some still look different no matter how much they work out/diet etc.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Camisoles....MicroFibre Camisoles...try them under your shirts and tuck them in your pants/jeans...u'll see a lot of difference...I have given this suggestion to a lot of people .. clients and they loved how it gives support and smooths things down...try Victoria secrets ones..I think its called Body form camisoles

^ thats the excuse most lazy people would use.

Not true, its hard work but truly rewarding.

Mama, instead of getting high waisted jeans, you should look into the new line of undergarments with support for tummies and butts.

I dun really remember the name of the line but im pretty sure your Bra shop will carry what Im talking bout.

They are basically a bit like bicycle shorts designed for women.
Not restriciting but with lycra in 'em to take care of the loose skin.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Do they even sell high waisted jeans these days?? They're so 80's.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Control Briefs are what they are called.
I had forgotton the name.

Many brands these days are coming out with several variations of control briefs.

Some target the tummy, some target the hips while there are some that are 3 in one targetting legs tummy and the hips in one.

remember those weird belts that woman were supposed to wear in 80s after giving birth to help 'em reduce the tummy, they were uncomfy
but they gave the idea of having underwear that would help with the sagging bits.

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

The sales at Ann taylor r not bad at all...But I suggest ANN TAYLOR LOFT...for the jeans ...The Loft is cheaper and has more casual stuff...I found my perfect jeans there...and I m sticking to their brand...read about them on the internet firts so u dont get confused by all the options they have...they have 3 cuts...that sit at different parts of the waist...I would suggest the fit and flare or the Curvy Boot....See how they fit also check out the Ann Taylor website they r shown there...

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

Are you talking abt a girdle? And no i was not offering the “lazy person” excuse . Some people are able to have the exact same body w/o surgery, and some yet still look different, I dint say they look worse, just different. There are some who look better after having kids than before they had em. I think nowadays more women are into taking care of themselves after having kids than our mothers or grandmothers. Btw…if u hav to have high-rise, do NOT get tapered legs, those are just..

Re: Complaint - jeans, pants, slacks

use belly and waist trimmers they work fine, iuse them bcoz i am fat but they put you in shape atleast
