I have been reading both indian and Pakistani newspapers and I have developed an admiration for the indian media. Why?
They will not write/show anything that hurts india, a lesson that they have learned from likes of BBC, CNN etc.
Our media on the contrary is by far the worst media in the world. With a hostile media as this, who needs to read enemy papers?
A typical behavior of media is demands over demands without bothering to being constructive in their critic and put forward some positive suggestions. So it is not very uncommon that in the same newspaper today you will see a very strong demand for the military action and very next day you will see a very strong opposition to it… BY THE VERY SAME PERSON!
Within Pakistani media, Dawn is perhaps the worst from Pakistani point of view. It promotes indian image with bright colors whereas derogates Pakistani image on each and every occasion.
Comments by readers: Whereas indian media will not publish reader’s comments without proof-reading them first (anyone giving an impression that he is from Pakistan will not be given any space anyway, mostly!). What does our media do? Go to the comments section of Dawn and see for yourself! It is completely overtaken by indians! Pakistani comments either are deleted or edited, whereas indian comments are published as they are. Unbelievable!
Sidenote: Is dawn bought by some indian multinational?
Sticking ones head in the sand is certainly not the way the media should do its job. Though I agree our media is full of doom and gloom, because they feel that is what will sell. Dawn is pretty good though. They provide a very balanced view.

Ever wondered that the media on both sides might be telling the truth ? ;)
Or is your head buried too deep in the sand for your brain to function ??
Is it OK for Ahmadies/Qadyanies to turn every thread about Qadaynies... and that is with the outdated information and news from biased sources???
I agree this guy test01 has been with pretty much everything remotely Islamic just because of Ahmediyat, but that just means we stop taking his arguments seriously.
media, press is an independent entity in a democracy and in India most of the national media are independent and they have there own views, Pakistan's media has learned from the Indian media and they have respect and admiration for Indian media, and the criticism here is because some section of Pakistans media is true.
plenty of soldiers and police men died in diff parts of india on daily basis in assam and plenty of other places but indian media does not make it a big story..offcourse a good thing..as it demoralizes the nation..and our freaking media is nothing but bunch of kids trying to win race...i think army should seriously think media control..and i also believe no more new channel should be allowed in pak..

exactly my thoughts on marasi dee's post. when you are clueless on what the ground realities in india, how can you even comment? this is just mental masturbation.

So where did you hear these stories if they were not in media !!!!!
There was a guy on this forum who was posting ..... almost daily .... about attacks by naxalites ..... the source was Indian media.
The difference is that in India the deaths of soldiers and police dont demoralize the people ... people in general understand the value of this supreme sacrifices for the nation .... perhaps another lesson the neighbours can learn !!!
I never play nice we both know that. The Pakistan media does a good job about exposing things that are against the national interest and against the mood of the country. The only Indian newspaper that did that was Tehelka (spelling?) and they got harassed for breaking scandals of corruption, prostitution and the like.
I agree CM. Kudos to Pakistani media for consistently refusing to be the government's lapdogs. And yes the Indian media is comparably timid and time and again falls very much in line with whatever the state's position is.
Indian Media is crap, speculation and bollywood and for the establishment.
i dont see any problems with pakistani media and remember it is not wrong to have alternate view remember what happened in 1971, so its always good to ask questions.
although sometime they do cross the line specially haid mir types but you cannot draw a line as well as when they were on CJ issue they were commended and on taliban they are being bashed.... who has to decide what they should show or not to show?
