Pak army is more professional, committed and a strong fighting unit
as compared to the part time recruits that make up the bulk of the US Army, most of them are looking forward to the cheque that they will get at the end of their contract to go ahead and start their new lives...
US relies primarily on technology (carpet bombing etc.) ...

Except that a good portion of people go into pak army because it is their family tradition (see jehlum, chakwal, kohat etc.). beyond that are weapons, training cannot be compared to the US army on any level.

Frankly speaking, there is no comparison between the 2 militaries. American soldiers are better built, trained, educated, paid and respected. Your average pakistani general is corrupt, average officer is a psychpant and the average soldier is an uneducated pawn usually there because he didn't qualify for anything else. May be bitter to hear but that's the truth.Want proof? Read land grabs by generals and senior ofcrs; go to any of their family functions and see how many junior ofcrs are running around doing thw work.And I haven't even touched upon technology. Do I even have to?There are may be may be one in a thousand good one but the rest is crap

Technologicaly or professionally there is no comparision. Its just like comparing pakistani baseball team with american ones..
pound for pound very few militaries in the world can beat a fully armed marine... and pakistan or any other asian military is not one of them...

No comparison off course. Just like there is no fing comparison between Indian forces and US army.
With all the Russian made junk, Indian army will be no better than Iraqi army.
The same is true with Chinese army, or any other Ruskie-armed force.
On a serious note, modern battlefield is a complex mix of soldiers, their armament, and above all the industrial + economic status of the country supporting the soldiers.
For example, in WWII, Japanese forces at some point had superior technology in certain fields of naval and air wars. Germans had superior tanks than American Sherman.
But the end result was an utter and humiliating defeat of both Japanese and German forces.
Why? because Japan and Germany could not match American industry and economic power.
Coming back to Pakistani armed services. Let me clarify that Pakistani and Indian forces mostly come from the same Punjabi stock.
Dunno what is it about Punjab, that it has produced the most disciplined and trainable soldiers and officers. This is true for Punjabi Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims.
Sikh soldiers from Punjab were in smaller numbers compared to both Hindus and Muslim Punjabis. And yet they were able to round out the maximum number of Victoria crosses awarded to British-Indian soldiers during WWII.
The reason Punjabi soldiers were so successful against Germans was that US and UK’s industrial power was arming, and supplying the British-Indian troops. You take away UK, and US support from these soldiers and they quickly lose their warring superiority. This my friends is not for the lack of their bravery and discipline. It is rather due to lack of planning, logistics capabilities and the quality of their armament.
Brits ruled almost the whole world at one point, yet they only found Punjab as the good source for their non-European military. Middle East was particularly terrible in producing good soldiers. Egyptians preferred supplying women for the night-clubs instead of sending their young men to fight against the Nazis.
No wonder Gen. Auchinleck was in tears during the dark days of 1947. Poor guy kept on talking about dividing British India, but keeping the forces together.

But OBL, wehrmacht didn't like the indians when they were captured by the Afrika Corps. Too bad, the germans had italians as an "ally" and Rommel couldn't get his supply line straight.

Well my hats off to Egyptians (from military historian point of view) for launching a surprise attack.
They almost showed they had progressed mentally since WWII considerably. However it turned out that their war planning was same $hitey Arabic. As usual Arabs got their behinds naked, and Israeli army pounced and captured the whole 3rd army.
p.s. No doubt Israel was supported by super power USA,

If egypt's routing was that bad, then israel wouldn't have had handed over the suez in 1977. Did you know that isreal didn't even talk of peace and returning suez until after 1973?
I admit though that Soviets didn't have the naval power unlike the americans. But didn't the same soviets "helped" india cut off E. Pakistan against american presence?
