Yes I am sanwali and it makes me self conscious and insecure as people have called me all sorts of names (pakistani boys) told me im ugly etc

I have been rejected based on my skin tone for some rishtas.

People who have seen my pics on here I think im kinda normal toned. …I actually really like my skin tone, but society makes me insecure.

Deeba1234- Yup, I agree. Oprah had Ashwariya Rai on her show and she was asked about this obsession with light skin and she was sort of stumped. She obviously herself bleaches her skin. lol

No. I only use ponds cream, and glycerin soap to make my fresh and glowing.

I dont know. I really wanted to marry a sanwali girl but ended up with gori-desi (begum hope i'll still get dinner tonight, will I? :D )

If not skin color, I am sure these products give boost to self confidence :)

Its so much more easy to attribute ones unattractiveness to dark skin than face the fact that its their facial structure, features, and body proportions that make them unattractive.

Unattractive/ugly people have a vested interest in perpetuating the false beauty myths. quite paradoxical.

Its the same case whereby you see mostly hideous and unattractive people (who might be a bit overweight) claiming that the media has brainwashed people into believing that stick thin / anorexic = attractive. Its so much easier to blame your unattractiveness on a few extra pounds.

Most people know when a person is attractive and when ones not and it has little to with skin color and weight.
a girl with reasonable/OK looks but dark complexion can easily attract a lot of men.
