Comments/Questions for RayRay's Reviews Thread

Yay for this thread! Have you tried Diorshow Mascara? And what do you think of Josie Maran’s line? I’m hearing very good things about it! Also please pretty please suggest a moisturizer and sunscreen, preferably together, and a good anti-wrinkle cream? Thank you!

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

^ thank you! don't like the flaking bit. hmph.

you know, for the first time in 10 years, i decided to try a different mascara- well, sort of different- loreal's voluminous power 24h mascara, and i gotta say, i love it! the brush is slightly curved which is a must for me, and unlike voluminous the original one, it doesn't clump! that was my biggest issue with the original one- it would clump pretty quickly in the tube and then dry out. this one- no issues! it smells a bit odd though, but i'm used to it now and don't really notice it. have you tried it?

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

Josie Maran's line is all about Argan Oil and practically everything is infused with it. I haven't tried a single thing yet BUT there is a whipped Argan Oil hand cream that I have my eye on...perhaps this weekend I might take a look!

Where can I buy this Reha and how much? I really want to start doing the anti aging stuff now.

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

Hi S!

AST skincare can be found at dermstore.com...it usually costs around $45 and most of the time they allow free shipping. I get all of my skincare there.

You should start with a Level 3 if you're beginning your anti aging regimen now. If you've never used retinol products before, you will experience a period of some flaking of the skin (maybe *a slight purge...again *maybe). If that happens, you cannot play with your face, pull skin off or pop pimples. You will have to be diligent with sunscreen (at least an SPF of 50) and stop using any exfoliating products as well.

Hope this helps!

Re: Ray Ray’s Reviews!

Reha make this thread a sticky

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

^ ooh! Does it have sunscreen? Olay moisturizer is soemthing my mom has used for decades and so I started using it diligently too about 12 years ago. I use their regular one with sunscreen- it smells great, isn't greasy and dries quickly. Also makes a great smooth base for powder or foundation. I think I'm ready for a change though!

speaking of: what's a good powder for everyday use? I've been using mac's studio fx in c35 for ages (geez once I commit, I guess I really do! :p) and think it might be nice to try something else for a change.

I love the Dewey finish that garniers b&b cream gives me but with summer tanning, im
now in between their shades and it's super annoying.

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

hi all,

can you help? what concealer is good to hide pigmentation? everything i have used so far leaves a cakey look

thanks

Sorry if i am posting this in the wrong thread

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

The gel does not have sunscreen in it.

You know...its definitely more convenient to have it one product...moisturizer and SPF. But I believe its better to separate them. That way, you know your products are doing what they're designed to do. I feel the effectiveness gets impacted when you have a multi-tasking product.

Sunscreen - especially when we get into anti-aging products - becomes even more important.

But what I will do is start hunting for something that might be what we're looking for.

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

What type of skin do you have? Are you noticing dry patches in some areas? Around old scars?

Re: Ray Ray’s Reviews!

Just a word of caution from EWG on the toxicity of sunscreen’s containing oxybenzone:

CDC: Americans Carry Body Burden of Toxic Sunscreen Chemical | Environmental Working Group

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

Skin is sensitive, my pigmentation is due to hormones, no dry patches no old scars, just ugly pigmentation :(

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

Reha have you tried L'oreal true match foundation? i've heard great things about it. I wonder how it works in comparison to Revlon Colorstay

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

I use the Loreal True Match and i Love Love Love it!!!!

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

How is the finish? Do you think it's suitable for oily skin? and what's the coverage like?

Re: Ray Ray's Reviews!

The finish is medium to full even though it looks runny when u pour it out. But once it sets, it will give u a very smooth and glowy and flawless look. I have oily skin and i usually use a primer underneath. But oil controlling primer is a necessity for oily skin i think.
