Comfort level with spouse in front of parents

Majestic and Fret,

As far as I know the marriage is valid. I used to think that a certain verse from the Qur'an would be necessary to legalize the union Isamically but it turned out (from what I read) that all you need is three witnesses (men of course not women), consent from both parties, a marriage contract with both parties requests/demands ... and importantly its to be made sure that the female is not under any coercion.

neyy, even holding hands is embarrissing..

When you guys get married..make sure you wear bubblewrap as clothing as not to even remotely touch each other whenever your parents are around.

Interesting. Can anyone else confirm this? What was it you read by the way?

Fret cant recall the title of the book exactly but it was on hadith and the Quran. I know for a fact that the recitations they do for nikah are just for blessings...anything is acceptable.

^ Yup that is true. I was quite amazed too when I found that out!

I don't think I'd feel comfortable at all kissing in front of parents or relatives. The most I'd do is hold hands. :)

the privacy between me and my husband would be very private…and i wouldnt want to show it on purpose to anyone else…let alone my parents…i’ll die of embarassment…:nono:
