Am not sure whetehr this is a general question or a religious one

Why do people wear black burqa’s

ive seen burqa’s which are coloured and embroidered with flowers are these acceptable to wear as a “modest” garment

When i wear black Shalwar kameez people say i look beautiful, I say thankyou:flower2:
but when i wear other colours they dont say anything.

Anyway people should wear burka no matter what is the color, otherwise Nazar lag jaaye gi

I thought the colorful burqas in S. Asia were distinctly a custom of the Bori muslims. I've seen pink ones, bright blue, etc...

i saw mostly blue, pink, cream , light brown and white burqa in pakistan (NWFP)...not much black cause it is too hot under the sun;)

they just need to be a bit more imaginative with the burq'a design's .... just ebcause one has to cover up doesn't mean it can't be done in style.

Only topi wala burkha or Iranian chador does justice to its purpose.

Stylish burkha's are kind of sexy (or maybe I've just got a sick fetish), especially the figure hugging Indian type with the seperate veil.

I've seen non-black ones too...like parissenoor said, they're better for when ur outside in the heat.
