Someone once told me that the only difference between a homeless beggar and your own personal self is family and a secure job. Lose these two things and you will become what they are. I have ever since counted my many blessings each and every day.
If you arent comfortable about just handing out money, take the poor person by the hand to the nearest food vendor and buy them a meal. I cant imagine anything sadder than being hungry AND alone.
