It didn't work. That's the first door he knocked for some mercy (refer to his Umrah trip couple of months back).
Even the 70 course lunch for Zardari failed to provide this malnourished government some much needed energy and support. In fact some PPP Punjab leaders are also asking for Shahbaz Sharif's resignation.

Dialouge started between gov n IK and 5 of PTI’s demands were accepted by gov out of 6. Deadlock came when PTI did nt back off from its demand about PM’s resignation. And then NS requested army to resolve ths crisis. Bad move. Both parties should have talked to find solution, without army. Brother, I believe that yesterday, statement of ‘angry and frustrated’ Ishrat-ul-Ibad that patient of Altaf Hussain must be near to its end, and it is possible that soon MQM might join TUQ protest as demands of TUQ is just … would have given shiver to Nawaz and shudder in the camp of PMLN. I might be wrong, but that is what I believe … if anyone do not agree than it is up to them.
I believe MQM is probably the most organised party with millions of supporters who can go to any extend, and with Karachi and Hyderabad in their grasp, anything could happen, that could bring any government to their knees.
Just imagine, MQM workers making (or coercing) all multinationals and other Pakistani industrial house in Karachi to stop paying GST and other taxes to government, stopping collection of all taxes from Karachi, stopping all imports and exports of Pakistan that goes through Karachi port, and stall all oil supplies to country that originates from Karachi port, strike (for whatever reasons) in all financial institutions and banks of Karachi, closing of Karachi Stock Market and people going on strike, etc … etc … than what could happen to country and its finances can be an easy guess.
Obviously, facing such situation, PMLN must have realised that army intervention would happen, so they started trying to avert such situation.

TUQ was speaking just moment ago and he said he has told Army Chief** that unless by tomorrow NS and SS resigns and new FIR is registered against them there will be no more mazakarat (not even with Army Chief). He also said that NS lied to Army Chief about FIR (about what acts were included in FIR) and that when he showed Rahil the copy of FIR, he was surprised.
**This has put Army Chief into awkward position. Things are taking new turn...

NS had made biggest blunder or I say two blunders (one earlier-Mush) by appointing Raheel Sharif as CAOS :)
Sharif Bratheran are unfit to work as PM and CM. It is still a time they should resign and give other intelligent persons chance to take over as PM and CM. Saad Rafiq as PM and Kh Aasif as CM. Bhalay bhalay :)
Remember what I said Ch Nisar would proved to be Mir Saadiq, Mir Jaafar of 21st century. Sultan Nawaz Sharif ka aisa dharhal takhta kya, ke main sahib ko patta bhi na challa. :D

A black day for PMLN and PPP, asking COAS to intervene. Political parties failed to inspire the nation. A lot of missed oppertunities in last two months. Couldn't read the situation.
PPP completely failed as opposition party. They are friendlier than PMLN were during their tenure. It is true that they are taking turns and protecting each other's corruptions in the name of democracy. Their version of democracy cannot prevail in this time and age, its not 90s anymore.

Earlier NS said after the speech of Khurshid Shah, PPP leader:

I would request PML(N) supporters to tell here why NS is changing his colors like chameleon? koi sharam hay ke nahin? jhoothay, corrupt aor makkaron ne hukumat sanbhal li hay. RESIGN, hand over power to Chairman of Senate for re-elections. I have a firm belief that elections 2013, were rigged and these Sharif Bratheran and PML(N) members came through engineered, rigged elections. Had they really came through honest and impartial elections, they would have never gone to army chief for begging to continue their illegal rule.

Army says the request came from govt
To clarify its involvement in the political situation, the army said that the request to play facilitator came from the government. The Twitter update did not clarify whether the request from the government came as a result of PTI, PAT demands for army involvement, as the government maintains.
