Exactly how imp is clothing during namaz? I mean besides being clean and covered, if a woman is praying in her own home alone, is it still necessary to wear loose fitting, covered stuff like she wud if praying in a group of women, or is regular clothing (for sake of argument, regular clothing here refers to half sleeves) alrite to pray in (head ocvered of course)?
While praying, a woman must cover all her body except for face and hands.
Having said that, the importance of loose clothes holds even for men because it is advised to pray with full attention in a peacefull manner... Tight clothing can't give you comfortness and will cause you to not pay attention in prayer....

MY Humble Opinion.
I totally agree, n Sara guys can't pray in half sleeves so I doubt women are allowed to, it's makrooh.
IF you really think about it, the clothing restriction is for prayer meaning going infront of Allah:swt:.. It does not say you u have to wear such and such because you will be praying infront of people but you wear such and such because you will be praying to Allah:swt:
When we go to job interview, we put on the best clothing then how in the world it can not be true that we can not dress up properly, modestly and decently when going in front of Allah:swt:

tight clothing is more confortable to move than loose clothing who can make you fall down in no time, putting a foot unintentionaly in your pant.shirt is easier with loose clothing than tight clothing...how many spotr competition people wear loose clothes to perform gym or dance?
praying involves rather complicated gestures, which are easy to do with less clothes, than a tent.

or may be with your logic, no clothes at all.. great.. there goes the ahadeeth about clothing in prayers.
Please back this up with some type of hadith or something... this is the first time I have heard this.... so if its blazin hot outside and you are working, and wearing half sleeves shirts, then what?
If the clothers your wearing are not revealing and not to tight (skin tight) showing your private parts, theer shouldnt be a reason not to wear it and pray.
Wasnt woman suppose to cover everthing but showing hands, feet and face where as for men, from belly button to the knees.
in order to pray salaat alone or with others.......one should cover herself except face and hands.also clothes should not be see through or tight.so if its easy in tight clothes or not you can't wear tight clothes which show women's body's shape clearly while praying.
In every traditional Muslim culture I know of, men don't walk around without a shirt on. Not only that, the concept of half-sleeve doesnt' seem to exist. At least in traditional desi dress, half sleeves have only been introduced for women...which is quite telling in itself.
please tell that to bulleya:D
why isnt it stressed as much for men in desi society to not to wear half sleeves?
anyways i thought traditional arab society wore so much clothing because the heat there would BURN their skin if exposed. in such heat it makes sense to wear layers. desert sand and heat plus the cold temperatures at night.
