I think that older ladies look so nice in saris. Much better than some teenybopper who doesn't have the body or the posture to carry it off. Also, a classic shalwar kameez is a never-fail option as well. You don't even need that much kaam on it. Just a lush, expensive fabric with a gorgeous shawl, like jamawar.
However, older women look really bad in lehngas and ghararas. It looks to "madam-ish." Leave that for the younger girls.
