Is it me or are we over over sensitive about Qadiyani threads. Two threads were closed today in religious section. None of them had any disrespect or name calling going on.
Is discussing difference between two belief systems is a disrespect
There are non-Muslims and liberal Muslims who attack Islamic belief system left and right and it’s OK
In one thread, Mod said that original poster proved the point so thread should be closed.
In CAFE, Bolnay waley cheezain thread is 38 pages, 1100 posts, way past proving all the points, still going on
I apologize but I have serious reservations about Religion section policies. Maybe we should remove religious section, all together
Thankyou for your valueable feedback and comment. We, the moderators of above mentioned forums are always looking forward to suggestions from respectable members.
The two threads were closed after due consideration and lesson learned from past experiences. These thread usually dis-integrate into mud-slinging match and name calling spree very rapidly. Thus we take appropriate action as we deem fit.
The judgment of moderators, however, is not perfect and we constantly need improvement. So please guide us and give your valued suggestions in this regard.
If you or any other member feel that (s)he can make valueable contribution/clarification to any closed topic, then please do contact us. we consider such request(s) on merit.
I also hate name-callings, abusive language and what not and that certainly comes out, somewhere in threads like that
I agree with most of what you said. Although I disagree with the solution.But at the same time, I cannot think of an alternative to that. Maybe some one else can suggest an alternative way of fixing this issue.
In general, you guys are doing a great job.

Make it a moderated thread.. Simple! Posts only show after the approval of the mod.

How about implimanting the life time ban (of that nick as well as IP adress) unless the poster is willing to apolgize, publicaly (also depends upon moderator's consent).
So a mod's comment's like...
"UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE YOUR WORDS BACK AND POST YOUR APOLOGY IN 24 HOURS, YOU ARE BAN FOR LIFE"

there are still ways to minimize the problem... like choose people from the religion forum who are mostly unbiased towards such issues to be given the ability to approve posts (dun need an exclusive mod for such cases)... they will be guppies otherwise and not mods just with that power... you can have like enough people, I am sure. :)

I think a quick search might hold the answers. And quite honestly most of us Ahmadies are sick and tired of answering the same accusations and reading the never ending attacks that are launched against our community and the personalities we revere and hold dear.
^^ I feel closer to Hanafi-Deobandi Maslak, and I am sick and tired of people bashing Deobandi, and saying deobandi/wahabis together like its a curse word.
So we should be offered the same privilage and whenever someone is putting word Mullah, deobandi and terrorist in the same sentence, that thread should be locked. It does not happen
My question is exactly this that with all due respect, why is Qadiayni's sentiments are more important and not Deobandi's equally important
P.S. Go to thre post of kehkeshan and Hareem's reply to that. That attitude is not limited to Kehke..., its all over the forum. Those threads should get locked also

I have seen very few threads whose title and sole purpose was to scrutanize Deobandi beliefs or where Deobandis were invited to defend their beliefs. If there were any such threads i'm sure most would have been locked. Also, the frequency with which anti-ahmadiyya threads are opened can not be seen in the case of any other sect. The issues raised in all these threads without exception have been discusses over and over a million times and most of the time the mods advise ppl to search and read old threads.
Having said that, there is no excuse for anyone to attack and degrade someone else's beliefs or the personalities they revere. But most people don't think like that and that is the reason i proposed, long time ago, that the religion section should be closed.
Now coming to the post made by kehkshan, i don't see any reference to any perticular sect. He thinks it is more productive to address issues such as suicide bombings happening in different part of Pakistan than decide whether Ahmadis are muslim or not and that is his opinion. I'm not sure what is offensive in it.

Do not spread hatred in the name of "pure" islam and do not kill people who do not follow its purest form. That exactly happened during the times of Abdul Wahab in 19th century or its happening in Afghanistan these days where hardline salafi and **deobandi **want to implement "pure" islam.
That would always remain an elusive dream.

I can go on and on with these exapmles.
You were referring to kehkshan's post in this thread and that is what i was talking about when i said i don't see wot is offensive in it. I didn't mean to say that the Deobandi maslak is not bashed at all.
Now can you post the title of the threads where you copied these posts from? I'm sure most of them wouldn't have scrutiny of the Deobandi maslak as their subject. That is the difference i was highlighting earlier. In the case of Ahmadis, not every thread that contains a bashing post is closed. Its mostly the threads whose title and sole purpose is to degrade our beliefs. People could be talking about a very different topic and you could have some bigots attack a perticular maslak which is totally unrelated to the topic and Ahmadiyya beliefs are not safe from that either. I'm sure i can search and come up with Ahmadiyya bashing posts in threads which have not been closed.
My opinion is that in the case of such posts, the whole thread shouldn't be closed but the offensive post should be edited or deleted and the posted given a warning.
