Cleaning Services

this is assuming that you dont have clutter on the counters on the floor and in the tub/shower

spray the tub and wall with cleaner, 1 minute

spray the countertops with cleaner, I have glass vessel sinks so I use glass cleaner, 30 secs

spray the mirrors, 30 secs

wipe the mirrors right away, 30 minute

then go to toilet bowl, spray/squirt the cleaner inside, 30 secs
lift up seat spray the bowl and underside of seat, 30 secs

now go and clean the sinks/counters, 2 minutes

scrub tub and walls, 2 minutes

clean toilet bowl, wipe bowl top and seat..2 minutes

use swiffer vacuum to vacuum up hair, 2 minutes

spray/squirt floor cleaner, mop 3 minutes

take out trash bag as you are leaving the bathroom, take off gloves toss them in there- 30 secs

15 minutes...done, I dont see why it should take longer. if anything I am being generous with the time it takes to spray cleaner or wipe mirrors and counters etc.

key is be ready, have gloves, and I have a basket with handles with all the cleaning supplies. and go for it.

I dont know why people think things take a long time, I need to write a book.

Or maybe our bathrooms are the size of postage stamps :snooty:

U people with big bathrooms. :frowning:

Re: Cleaning Services

I don't know but when I clean two bathrooms it takes me at **least* *45 minutes and thats if I'm on a mission :(

why does X2 make it sound so easy????

Re: Cleaning Services

because cleaning is easy, when you talk about cleaning bathrooms you are also organizing, remiving clutter, putting things in proper places, tossing out empty containers taking laundry hampers to the washing machine etc.

but if you use a cleaning service, they will want you to remove the clutter and organize etc..and they will do exactly what i just told u

I am telling y'all, stay organized and everything is simple, from dressing up, to cleaning to shopping (yes you know what u have and what you need)

when we clean we are also dealing with clutter..and that is a time killer

Re: Cleaning Services

X2’s going to give Kim and Aggie a run for their money. :hehe:

Can I hire you as my cleaning service :@:

Re: Cleaning Services

I charge $350/hour

but really ladies, it is not that tough to clean..

e.g. last saturday, in less than 30 minutes I had emptied the entire fridge, washed all the bins and trays, dried them, sorted through fridge contents, tossed stuff, organized the fridge and was done.

There just has to be a method to the madness.

Maroush- i should get my own show..but honestly i never get the cleaning business, especially when newly arrived desi brides in US complained how busy they were with cleaning their 2 bedroom condo..i was like huh? for 2 ppl keeping a place spotless should be at most an hour a day

Re: Cleaning Services

I clean my bathrooms every week (detail cleaning). It takes about 10 mins per bathroom maybe because we all put things back where we picked them up from and throw trash into the trashcan and use a nice infrared lamp to dry out the bathrooms after a shower. I don't have to deal with mold/mildew or limescale buildup or tough rings in the toilet. Daily basic care prevents a 1 hour stressful routine.

My kitchen is the same way.

Carpets, dusting, laundry...everything gets done. I just don't let things pile up. Maybe sometimes organzing old stuff or stuff that needs to be thrown away/given away can take some time, but you have to do that yourself.

So to answer your question, I don't have a service.

Re: Cleaning Services

I agree with Niksik, doing things as you go along saves ALOT of time. On average it takes about 15 mins to clean the bathroom, that's with detailing. We just put things back as and when we use them, and wipe the sink or bath edge dry straight after use. It prevents things like mould and mildew and only takes 10 seconds to do.

We don't have a cleaner, and probably will never get one. I wouldn't mind an ironing lady/gent though.

Re: Cleaning Services

Yup , exactly as Nikki said … plus , I feel work done by own hands is alot better then when cleaners do it … …

That cupcake chor :emmy:

Give me her name and address!

Re: Cleaning Services

Kitchen and Bathroom take the longest for us, we like to have a thorough clean as these are the two most used rooms in the whole house!

We don't have a cleaning lady, I don't think it's all that common in the UK. I have a friend who has a cleaning lady once a week and she helps the lady clean. Do you guys help with the cleaning when the cleaner is round or do you get on with other tasks and leave them to it?

Re: Cleaning Services

Cleaning will never be difficult or time consuming provided you do it often and you keep yourself organized.

I am anal about having clear counter-tops.....be it in the kitchen or the bathrooms.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to enforce the same type of diligence upon other members of the family......

Re: Cleaning Services

Cleaning is a useless activity and waste of time & energy... :D

Re: Cleaning Services

I use a cleaning lady who is disabled. She burnt her hand when she was young and so she's trying to make money to make ends meet. She comes about once a month and does a fantastic job. I always tip her extra and give her clothes and shoes (new things). Its been a great source of help for me!

Exactly!! No matter how much one person will try to keep everything organized hoping for an easy breezy cleaning day, the other four maniacs just won’t give a…

grrrr  I know

bohat taraqee karoo gaay. I see you bright future in waste recycling industry :)

Re: Cleaning Services

I have a lovely girl who comes once a week on a Friday...she is vacuuming around my feet even as I type. She is here two hours and she does the entire downstairs, from the cloakroom to mopping the floors, all ready for the weekend. The rest of the week,I just muddle through.Only 'cos I work tho'.When I was at home I was much better organised.
Mr CO hates anyone other than me to do his ironing though...typical!

and I am officially tired of repeating myself about what needs to be put back where.
