I dont see how the 2 scenarios compare. Gillani was guilty of obstruction of justice, and then refused a supreme court order for which he was bound to be held in contempt. Everyone knows that much law.
On the other hand, Imran merely made a statement referring to the shoddy elections. Faisal Raza Abidi has frequently used almost abusive language for the SC and CJ…but he has never been called in court. Goes to show that making a statement is anyone’s right. Following a court’s judgement is mandatory…but questioning the courts judgement is not a crime.

Gilani was working under constitution of Pakistan, which should have been respected by this corrupt PML(N) CJ. What Faisal Raza Abidi said was the truth, CJ has no balls to face the truth in public. He knows that he can twist the arm of IK and get an apology to embarrass him in public as advised by his PML(N) bosses, hence this uncalled for contempt notice.
